I hate XPing. I hate RNG. Today I XPed RNG for nine hours straight. You can imagine the fun I had!

Started out soloing. I really have to wonder why I play a MMO when I hate the average stranger so very much. It boggles me how downright rude people can be.

1) I was soloing for 2.5 hours already when a party moved in, camped on top of me, and told me to leave. WTF?
2) If you're a "soloer" with a PL, what the hell are you doing XPing in the one safe place in the zone? And to the party with TWO PLs and yet went out of your way to steal my mobs? I hate you. And JP party, why were you making rude /emotes at me all morning? I did nothing to you. ><

I hadn't even used up all of my anniversary ring charge and decided to just leave; I was getting 500-800 per hour about 10 minutes between claimed worm.

On my way out of the zone I got an invite (wasn't seeking), so I said what the hell. No tank, no WHM, yet the guy wanted to just start fighting. A Besieged was building, so I left.

After that I went back out. Got an invite before I put my flag up. (Is RNG popular again? Odd.) Used the last two charges of my anniversary ring and a charge of my empress band and got to RNG 33. The party itself was fine, though having three other parties (most with PLs) plus soloing PUPs and SMNs and people leveling their NPCs all in the same small area as us was a tad rough.

I'm selling off all my bolts and arrows. I should have time to finish RNG as a subjob with scrolls.

Embarrassing finding in the middle of all this "fun": I decided to try soloing with DRK again, see if using bolts made it any safer. Just the opposite. One bird right outside of Whitegate. Got me down to 15 HP before I killed it. (I didn't land one bolt, and shooting made me not be able to get shadows back up fast enough.) How damned embarrassing would it be if I died as DRK 75 to birds other jobs can solo in their 60s. One day I'll level a job that solos things well! Fast and safe!

Another Besieged is building, so yay ending the day on a high note!

Swap over to WoW again, play a Hunter or a Warlock and never see another soul until you max out. ;)

I feel pretty much the same way about strangers in game, and pick-up parties are the worst. Higher levels are... somewhat safer, but not entirely immune, and I've gone as far as flat out refusing to level lowbie jobs with anyone outside my LSes. Interacting with my group of friends for Limbus, Dynamis, escorts, missions, etc. is enough MMO for me.

RNG is fun. I remember going thru so many bolts/arrows. I will be building up a big pile of ammo -- horn arrows, scorpion arrows, mythril bolts, darksteel bolts, demon arrows and one other I forget. Hopefully all these ammo will allow me to hit 75.

Actually, I had a hell of a time with birds on my THF as well--they aren't as susceptible to bolts as most other mobs.

Lesser colibris? I often solo those on DRK. I can kill those pretty fast with /mnk. I fought them so much I levelled my parrying to the 190s.

But in your case, you are skilling up marksmanship. So I suggest /pld (if you have) and use sword+shield. Should be safe.

Ah, I bet /MNK would be handy, and I could see /PLD working as well. Unfortunately of the three jobs I have under 10, and MNK (9) and PLD (2) are two of them. :P
