Lather, rinse, repeat: Work is killing me. By 8 AM this morning, I was already exhausted and stressed out of my mind. Luckily no one else was in the office yet, so I could yell Why. Won't. This. Damned. Machine. Work?! and not bother anyone. Stupid computers, I'd stab you if I could!

FFXI is meh. I never have energy or willpower to do anything anymore. Stupid work, I'd stab you if I could!

Last night I used up the ~650K worth of gold, brass, and leather I had been saving to skill on Chaser. Had expected to get from 88 to 89, but instead just got .4 skillups. On more than a half-million gil's worth of materials. Stupid goldsmithing, I'd stab you if I could!

Went farming with Dani for mermaid parts. Was nice and relaxing and good company! She got all the parts except the so-called easy one -- we got all the other parts in less time than we spent farming the easy one, and it never even dropped! Stupid fish, I can and will stab you next time!

Good news was the update info this morning. My my my, COR got some love! Honestly, I was pretty happy with the job as-is, though I wouldn't have turned up my nose at more bullets. But stronger rolls! Rolling XI = twice as strong as BRD songs? *drools!*

That leads to me wondering if I need to be more aggressive in my rolling. I almost never hit on a six (because basically, if you're on six you have a one-in-three chance of a bad roll: an unlucky or a bust). Sometimes if I'm above six and sitting on an unlucky roll I'll roll again, depending on the odds of busting. I make a poor gambler, as I really don't like taking risks -- I'd rather have less of a benefit for my party than risking busting and hurting them!

Ah well, stupid files are almost done being copied, so time to go back to work. Stupid work, I'd stab you if I could!

Already happening, yep. :P Which I cannot understand at all. BRDs are at the top of the world, they don't have the right to complain about /anything/.

I'm a BRD75, and I love this change, since maybe people will start going batshit for Corsairs and I can merit on samurai again.

My main job gets -no- play because everyone's always "come onnnnn, come as brd!"

I wonder if SE is enhancing every roll or just selected ones. Healer's Roll is already kinda broken as it is.

As for rolling more aggressively...I'm not sure. Isn't the penalty for bust (still) harsh?

Yeah, Bust is bad enough that I'd really, really like to avoid it. It means that instead of two rolls, everyone can only get one until Bust wears (5 minutes, I believe). Plus you get a "negative bonus" on whatever roll you busted on. So instead of +attack it becomes -attack.

Since you need to hit 11 for this super bonus, and 12 is bust, people really need to stop panicking -- 11 is really rare and hard to hit.

And no clue if it's all rolls or a few! Can't wait to find out. :)

I think I already said all this in LS, but I'm bored... I'm happy about the COR bullets. I really am. The RNG in me keeps wanting to shake SE for not taking COR's marksmanship seriously, but they've slowly been coming into line (like with Rapid Shot and such). Iron Bullets just aren't good enough and Corsair Bullets aren't available enough.

On the other paw, I think they might go too far with the enhanced rolls. I just don't think replacing one "uber" support job with another fixes anything ^^; I'd point out that COR isn't BRD. COR has much better damage dealing ability than BRD does. Given that COR already has that advantage, also giving them the advantage of potency in buffs is a bit ??? in my book, but we'll have to see what SE actually does with it. The changes may be as unnoticeable as the meager hate loss from Utsusemi that had NIN up in arms or the multi-BLM nuking nerf that was more like a gentle pat...

On the other paw, I'm completely jazzed about the BST changes they're talking about. The Call Beast one is significant since some pets (like Amigo) only last 15m now. Completely ridding the XP penalty is about 4 years overdue. And I have high hopes tha the HP regen with Stay is significant enough to be meaningful and can be used strategically (like in a BSTing duo).

The new Automaton head that enhances healing sounds downright useful :o I hope those are accessible, especially at mid-lower levels :D

COR and BRD do different things; whatever the upcoming modification might be, COR still won't have access to anything remotely close to Elegy and Horde Lullaby.

COR might have stronger buffs now, but still somewhat unreliably. I find the tension interesting. Now there might be enough incentive to go for broke, so to speak.
