Pit mob #3: Done.

Opo-opo, WAR/MNK, ice spikes, stoneskin, phalanx , auto-regain

Failure

When he was only halfway leveled, I strongly suspected he wouldn't work out, but it turns out he's not working for different reasons I thought. Auto-regain rocked at first -- he was WSing 4 times for every 1 time by his foe. Then, once he hit 30, he stopped WSing. Period. End of story. He'd WS maybe once a fight instead of every couple rounds. No clue why, nothing else changed. Either something is buggy of there's something else going on.

Like psudo-NIN psycho-bunny, my goal with him was "anti-MNK" -- I figured things would throw themselves against his stoneskin and phalanx and take damage from the ice spikes. That was a good idea, except every other mob seems to have stoneskin/phalanx, too. :P Still, if he had kept up his insane WSing it still might have worked out, but nope.

Thanks to Midgar's sudden lack of interest in the Pit, he went from 5 to 50 in two days. (And amazingly, he only battled in the champ's ring once.) Apparently I'm the first person to discover that the game sets up a fake mob for you to fight if no one signs up against you (it's sneaky and hard to spot as well as slightly buggy). I posted on BG and no one else had known, so I'll take that to mean I'm the first person ever, ha ha.

I'd like to say I'm over and done with the Pit now, because I've really gotten bored of it. However, I'm thinking one more monster: a COR mob, just because I want to see if it'll roll.

---

In other news, thanks to a kind LS assault static, I got a pair of Barbarossa's Moufles for my COR! (Once they all had pairs, they let me lot on the extra; I didn't take part in the Assault itself.) I have peachy keen screenshots of them (they look great with the Sandy aketon!) but my fricking webhosting is down again. Fourth time in three weeks. >< I'm going to have to look into moving, because this is getting silly.

Other than that, not much happened this weekend. Caught a Besieged, missed a Besieged (I was online, saw they were building, saw them hit level 1, then forgot to check again until four hours later. c.c ).

I splurged and upgraded my COR pants (Jaridah Salvars -> Akinji Salvars). Since I'll be wearing them until I get high enough to use those those Assault-pants-whose-names-I-never-remember (the purple ones) it seemed like a good upgrade to make. (Plus, since I haven't skilled gold in weeks, I have plenty of gil.)

Might be a late night tonight, even though I need sleep. I need to catch new moon/Darkday to do ~60 synths on Chaser. (She's clogged up with colored stones I get through chocobo digging, she needs to cut them.)

PS: Webhosting being down = no email/LJ comments. Will hopefully be back up on Monday and I'll reply to folks then.

OMG, Thistle missed a Besieged!!

Would you be happy with a COR pokemon using Corsair's Roll all the time? :P

Ha, if it got extra XP, maybe! :P

But I tested it out last night, and COR mobs don't roll. Makes sense, since rolling is a JA and not a spell.

W.hands are better, but the Barbarossa can be gotten with 4 people. Gotta love TAU for seriously decreasing the number of people needed to get slightly less than sky gear...

They're from the third in a line of quest/BC fights: Scouting the Ashu Talif, Royal Painter Escort, and Targeting the Captain. The first quest is, by far, the hardest of the entire line and where a bottleneck of progress will occur if it happens. The second and third quests my static farms with 4-6 people depending on who's able to come to the run. The set up for 4 people is MNK/NIN, SMN/WHM, WHM/BLM, RDM/BLM. 6 people adds in a BLU/NIN and SMN/WHM.

I've written a draft of a guide to doing the quests here: http://gbeans.livejournal.com/163519.html#cutid1 Please forgive the 5 or so prompts for a login that'll pop up -.- My webhost and I are having some massive disagreements regarding security at the moment ^^; The pictures are just diagrams I've drawn of how the ship is laid out.

Wow thats very nice... aside from the lack of pictures >.> Doing it with 4 will be VERY difficult. I'm not sure who I can enlist as the 5th and 6th because it seems as if it requires a fairly knowledgeable/experienced group. And I know the limitations of my group at the moment. =[

Yeah, I'm thinking that four would be a challenge that most people couldn't do. Beanie's static has been working together for a long time (years?) and they're pretty darned good. :)

w.hands is a bit better

Yeah. I had posted elsewhere that my COR has the best stuff a non-HNM LS person could have. No chance I'd ever get w.hands, I don't want to do HNM stuff. :)
