WHM foo (FFXI)

The whole night was WHM night. @1K to 42. Reward's getting better and better even though I haven't hit the 45 'cap' (whatever you want to call it) yet. I'm kind of feeling my way towards getting more reward.

The whole WHM thing makes me sort of :/ though. I don't think of myself as a WHM! I'm a DD! ...nevermind that two of my three other 75 jobs are RDM and BRD.

I bought a holy breastplate tonight for yay defense and gbeans tipped me a holy shield for some crafting I did for her. I can feel the shield stalking me from my safe. "50, Thistle! WHM 50! Use me!" The idea of me being WHM 50 is kind of freaky though... let alone 75.

The amusing part of the night was doing my WHM AF1. I had read that the mob was actually hard, unlike other AF1 mobs. I read a RDM 73's tale of nearly dying to it, so I was going to take no chances. I used my fellowship NPC and every buff I had. Rested to full. The RDM 73 said the fight went long enough that he had to convert twice! So I wanted to start with full MP! Clicked the ???... and the stupid mob couldn't even touch me. I took about 20 HP damage total the whole fight. So silly!

I got my hammer, but the whole AF quest made me frowny. Stupid storyline, no being in religious places! And stop blessing me! Not in the mood for that. ><<

I'd make evil taunting WHM comments at you, but it'd be pot, kettle, black situation if I did. Don't worry about the AF story too much. You might even want to finish it when you get to the "Build an army of WHMs!" part and start snickering. I know that's what I did o_o

Hey now, Adamantfist has tried his level best to Banish-burn me in Campaign! But he still falls back on the old Head Butt or Ore Lob from half a mile away to knock me down. (Ore Lob hurts, btw x.x )

Ore lob does! And in truth Banish isn't so bad. The Sandy campaign NPCs can banish things to death!

I am shocked to think that a 73 RDM would've had a hard time with the WHM AF1 mob. He's really not that hard.

Then again, I almost lost to the DRK AF1 mob once upon a time. I think my Shellra V is broken...

As easy as it was for me, I have to wonder about that, too. Maybe because I stacked on evasion and have a great weapon... but that shouldn't make THAT much of a difference...

The RDM must have sucked or had a seriously underleveled sub or... something. Either that, or he has confused it with the AF3 mob in Fei'Yin, which is also a Shadow-type mob.

Oh yeah, I could totally see the AF3 mob being a challenge (the Death WS took our MNK down a good chunk, while the AF1 mob's same move didn't break through stoneskin until it had done it 5-6 times -- it really spammed it, more than TP should have permitted for). Let's hope he was confused.

The AF3 mob is unfairly broken with Dimensional Death x.x; I keep my ego firmly in check with that one and insist on a WHM or two to keep me upright >.>;

WHM AF1 is hard in comparison to other AF1 mobs. ... But considering a naked 75 bard with 150 staff skill could take pretty much all the others out, that's not saying much. A RDM would actually have more trouble with it than other jobs, I think, since their soloing depends on endurance - the longer you let that fight go on, the worse off you're going to be since Dimensional Death is going to own you. Then again he could just be retarded.

I actually really like the WHM AF storyline - it winds up tying into Sandy's and Tavnazia's! I think that's pretty damn cool considering they came out ~4 years apart.

Yeah, it's pretty cool that it ties in to Tavnazia. I bet the people who did it pre-CoP had a great big grin when CoP came out.

I'm grinning that way right now with anticipation 'cause of the RNG AF storyline (it does the same thing with tying in) :3
