Sadly our very first Nyzul Isle Assault run got canceled. Unfortunately I was told that after I had spent an hour muling to get all my BRD crap. (Why does BRD have 4875047507031 times more crap than any other job? Staff, staff, staff, staff, food, tons of instruments, and more armor swaps than I think I do for any other job. Bah.)

Anyway, same chick who was arranging that is a leader for that LS I did Dynamis with. She poked me to see if I wanted to go to Dynamis tonight, and since I really really didn't want to craft, I decided to go. It was actually somewhat less boring than the last time I went (when I said it'd be another year before I went again), I think it was because people died so much. *cough* We had three almost-wipes (everyone died except me and one other person twice, and once just me left standing), and on the last wipe everyone was gotten. Sadly that was totally and 100% a non-necessary death. (Time was short but they were going to try to farm. Somehow ~30 mobs were pulled and we had no mages to sleep things = wipe. When we recovered, we dropped glasses.) Luckily I got a R3.

Oddly next to no AF3 dropped. WHM pants and melee gloves, that's it. (Amusingly enough, I almost got the pants. Wouldn't that be too funny, no AF1 but have AF2?)

Anyway, so that means all I need is Windy before I have northlands access. Then I can apply to a HNM LS! Ha ha ha.

However, related to that, looks like Sunday I'll be doing some (*gag*whimper*cry*blech*) CoP. I have to look up and check any prep-work I may have to do, since I haven't touched any CoP crap in years.

Turns out Nyzul static will only let you lot one set, not mix-and-match, bah. I really, really want Denali, but Askar has way more pieces I could use, so I guess I'm going with that. No feather hat for me! ; ; (I dream that maybe we'll totally finish one day, then be able to go back and farm for a second set, but that's probably a crackpipe dream.)

Hm, post sounds kind of negative, doesn't it? Wasn't a bad night, really (other than the death). I got to play COR (yay!), and time didn't drag in Dynamis like it had last time, and even though I did die once, I survived three other times when everyone else hadn't. Really, just playing COR made me happy. I need to do that more often. :)

Even with an experienced Dynamis ls, wipes happen. Jeuno in particular gets glitchy, especially around the AH. 'Tis all part of the lovely Dynamis experience: AF2, maybe some currency and random items, and probably less buffer at the end of the night.

If things are heading towards a wipe, my advice is DON'T RUN. Either you're on the hate list or you aren't, and running means it just takes that much longer before people can start getting up. Also, I highly suggest having a RR pin unless you are 100% sure you are getting R3 every time.

Also, no bitchen' about CoP. You get exp if you win in the BCs, don't lose any exp if you don't win, the BCs have been nerfed anyway, and you can buy liquids and polymers and animas now - and much more cheaply to boot. Why, in my day, we climed up the mountain in Attohwa Chasm barefoot! In double ice weather that you couldn't turn off on the computer! You couldn't warp at the top, had to walk up the cliff both ways! (Or something like that :P).

Yeah, death-wise I've been really lucky in Dynamis. That was my first death in the three times I've gone. I guess I was due to have it happen. :P

If things are heading towards a wipe, my advice is DON'T RUN.

I was kind of running a little, but in a small area. We were in front of the AH, and I ran from one side of it to the other to try to avoid the unclaimed mobs. I wasn't on any hate list, I hadn't rolled or shot or anything, so I figured if I wasn't spotted I might survive (again). I thought I had gotten to a safe spot (kind of tucked into the side of the AH, there's a little cubby there), but all of a sudden the mobs were on me and I was dead before I could blink.

On CoP: Yeah, I did everything up until this point years ago, before any nerfs. Still, no matter how many times they nerf it, I'll always hate CoP. It's unreasonable. Various, multiple level caps, and... um... other reasons I've forgot in the last couple years. (It's kind of odd to hate something when you can't even remember why anymore.) I wish I could just ignore it and forget it exists, but it annoys me when there's stuff left to do that I haven't done yet. Maybe once I finish it I can successfully ignore it.

Heeheehee. :D

Hey Thistle, if I were to get into FFXI, what game or expansion would be a good starting place? I've seen lots of expansions like Chains of Promethea and Wings of the Goddess, but I don't know what's what.

:o Yay! If you come play, you should play on the Midgar server!

As far as I know, you can't get just the basic game anymore (without any expansions), but that's fine as you'd be all but crippled by the lack.

You could get this one (http://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XI-Vana%252019diel-Collection/dp/B000A7XSX4/ref=pd_sim_vg_img_4), which gives you the basic game and the first two expansions, but better would be this one (http://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XI-Vanadiel-Collection/dp/B000JJI4Z0/ref=pd_sim_vg_img_2) which gives you the basic + first three expansions. You can get along fine without the last expansion (Wings of the Goddess), but if you stick with FFXI for any length of time you'll pretty much need that third expansion (Treasures of Aht Urhgan).

Let me know if you start playing! :D

I got the 'Vana'Diel Collection 2008' myself which had all the expansions and cost me $29.98 for the Xbox 360.

There should be a PC version of that as well (may have to look around a bit, most stores I've seen are still trying to empty their stock of the 2007 Collection) which should sell for about the same price.

That was only $10 more then the Wings of the Goddess expansion on it's own, so it seemed worth it to me since it also meant I didn't have to deal with multiple boxes, discs, or registration codes.

Those WHM pants are the only piece of WHM AF2 I really want if a pair were to drop and absolutely no one else needed them. Cleric Pantaloons + Blessed Brialet + capped Bar spell merits + capped Shellra V = lean mean magic defense machine :3b

I felt kind of guilt lotting them (it was a 'no one needs/wants these, so anyone 70+ should lot' thing), so I'm not too bothered that I didn't get them. I hope the person who beat me enjoys them. :) *pushes them your way~*
