I don't like TOAU 44 anymore. (FFXI)

I don't even like the music to ToAU 44 anymore.

First attempt: Woo woo! We got Alex to 4% before timing out! But unlike last week's 2%, we weren't all dead at the end, so improvement?

Unfortunately that was the high point of the night.

Second attempt: BLU kicked our ass. Our borrowed RDM chainspell-nuked him to just over half dead, which meant we could melee the rest and the next two forms. That worked out well, until he did some 1000+ WS to our tank (not Eyes On Me, a WS). Then he turned around and did the same thing to me, 1K+ again. Everyone else quickly died.

Third attempt actually went worse. BLU kicked our asses and made us cry like girls.

What a mess. I have no idea what we're doing wrong, other than dying ("lol"). Not knowing what we're doing wrong, I have no clue how to fix it.

I'd like to see how the fight would go on a neutral day. We've always been stuck with Lightsdays and Darksdays so far.

Really, really frustrated.

Very belatedly I wonder something. Why weren't we sleeping the BLU during his two hour? Why were we trying to just stun it? We hadn't told the RDM that that had been our plan last week, so he hadn't known...

I wonder how much of a difference that would have made... Gah.

Sleeping the BLU through Azure Lore makes a huge difference. We learned that the hard way ;-;

I'm trying not to say much, but I thought we established last week that sleeping it during Azure/Eyes was a necessity. I don't know. I don't mind helping you guys with this, but there are certain strategies that I pointed out for a reason... like going, or not going on Darksday.

I understand people have time limits due to work and whatnot, but if the odds aren't going to be in our favor, we're wasting our time, gil, and items trying to go and do it all at that time.

Like Vel pointed out below, we didn't sleep the BLU during Azure Lore. I actually don't think the thought of "Sleep Stun" had really ever occured to us.

I couldn't tell you what game day it was when we did it, but I know we didn't pay a bit of attention to it. In fact, I didn't even know until Thistle started this about Darksday being bad.

I don't necessarily think that anyone's doing anything wrong, it's just a bad series of events that have cumulated in all of this.

Again, as the person who thinks that CoP is a cakewalk, I find the Alexander fight fairly difficult.

It actually worked out well last week, at least once we put the most annoying call in the macro so melees would turn. :D

1st form melee to death without zero spells. melee and tanks turn when he azure lore. Sleep til 2hr over
2nd form timed nukes and sleeps zero physical.
3rd form anything goes

Like I said in a response awhile back. The fight has a way of taking all of your preparations and planning, and stepping on them. Then laughing at you.

It's an evil fight.

Given all that, end CS is still totally worth it. Plus the fight itself has always been fun for me for whatever reason.

The BLU part kinda broke me. I can't really main heal on RDM when he throws out 1K damage left and right.

This was our first time seeing that, too! Eyes On Me, yeah, sure, that's bad. But a WS that one-shots the PLD? And one-shots the DRK (like that's an accomplishment, stupid Immortal...).

If we don't beat it this coming Thursday, I don't know....
