I thought it was an anti-McCain stab until I saw the Obama circle with the line through it.

And it never fails to crack me up when people call Obama a "socialest" when the Bush administration's government is about to absorb almost the entire financial services industry.

Just a small note, but you guys do realize the Bush Administration was against the idea back when it was first proposed just for mortgage crap, right? And if I remember right people were pissed off that it was attempted to be shot down then.

They're doing it now because the USA is full of really stupid and easily lead people (re: picture above, which is pretty hilarious) that think we need this. I was pleased when it got shot down by the house for a few minutes before I remembered that the Senate et all were going to just keep revoting until it came out "right". Which is what happened.

Wait... that's just because...

Nope... no defence for this... these people are stupid. Even I can't some up with some wacked out right-wing defense for that.

I think that confederate flag on their porch adds a certain sense of class to the whole scene, don't 'cha think?

See for me.. being a Northerner living in the south... I have all kinds of issues with the confederate flag and the poeple that choose to fly it. I, personally, see it as a sign of treason. The people that flew this flag withdrew from the United States of America and fought against her, making it treason. To me, that's not something to be proud of. But then, i didin't grow up in their world... something for which I shall be forever grateful.

Wow... that is amazing.
Why is it that these politicians are so concerned with "winning the war in Iraq" when there are other more pressing issues that should be addressed first.

Why can't we...
Let's "Win the war against obesity."
Let's "Win the war to educate kids." This is what I'm referring to: http://kapio.kcc.hawaii.edu/upload/fullnews.php?id=52
Let's "Win the war to stop outsourcing of US jobs."

But for god sakes... do we have to "win the war in Iraq"? A war that was unpopular to begin with... a war that was waged because daddy couldn't finish it the first time. Geesh... McCain is an idiot for continually supporting this war.

Agreed on all of that. The millions upon millions of dollars we waste daily there could do so much more at home...

Because "the strife in Iraq" doesn't have the same ring to it.

I really wish these people would look up the word, because I don't think it means what they think it does. From Dictionary.com:

–noun
1. Southwestern U.S. an unbranded calf, cow, or steer, esp. an unbranded calf that is separated from its mother.
2. a lone dissenter, as an intellectual, an artist, or a politician, who takes an independent stand apart from his or her associates.
3. (initial capital letter) an electro-optically guided U.S. air-to-ground tactical missile for destroying tanks and other hardened targets at ranges up to 15 mi. (24 km).
[Origin: 1865–70, Americanism; after Samuel A. Maverick (1803–70), Texas pioneer who left his calves unbranded]

—Synonyms 2. nonconformist, independent, loner.

So uhhhh... yeah. John McCain, Captain of the Failboat.
