Oh my god. Verizon, do you hate me? Poltergeist is the only movie that ever seriously scared me, enough so that 26 years later (god, could it really have been that long since the movie came out?), just the clips they use in the commercial make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. D: D: D:

I must have been young enough to have been impressionable when I saw it, because that movie pretty much represents "evil" to me. The way the house imploded, the graveyard in the backyard, the bodies in the swimming pool, and the way the furniture moved. (Just typing this up has me in goosebumps.)

I'm an adult now, but I just can't watch that movie. God.

Please please let that commercial not run very long! I can't take it!

Interesting side note: I don't believe in ghosts, so I'm not sure how/why it scares the crap out of me and I worry there might be a horrible poltergeist near me. How could I worry about that if I don't believe they exist? I can't consider that question too much, I have to turn out the lights and hopefully sleep soon. :(

I hadn't even thought about her being dead and all the stuff around that until I goggled to find the date of the movie.

I grew up on movies like that, The Omen, Excorcist, etc...there are few movies today that can truly freak me out anymore. The art of horror is nearly gone thanks to gore porn like Saw...

anyway... That's still one of the very short list of movies that can still freak me out :)

Yeah, those old movies were scary, the gore porn (great term) is just gross. Scary > turning stomachs !
