Last night Comcast died. No TV, no Internet! So I had to poke around on my computer for some form of entertainment. Imagine my surprise when I found finalwebsitebackup102803 in my /PokeMUSH folder! Hmmmmmmm~

So I stuck it up on my website! The whole entire PokeMUSH site! Logs, fanart, staff pages, rules, IC info, tons of Rocket stuff, everything! (Edit: Ha ha, wow. Our site had 641 pages! :D )

When I get home, I have to see if I can change the URL. http://www.hot-hot-hot-catlove.com/PokeMUSH/var/www/html/byte-me/pokemush/index.html is very clunky, I'd rather have it be http://www.hot-hot-hot-catlove.com/PokeMUSH/ . (The file was too big for me to be able to unzip it myself, I had to put in a support call to have them do it on the backend, so I didn't have a say as to where it went.)

I have unlimited webspace and bandwidth, so as long as Catlove is around, the PokeMUSH site will be there. :D (Ha ha, I should change the email addresses so they come to my current address if someone applies... or be more kind and put a note in that the game is long since closed.)

I found some other stuff in that folder that I'll be posting as well. :D

Edit: The bad apps, the replies to reject letters, so funny! So hard not to laugh out loud at work. :D

Ha ha ha I need to stop editing this post. Because I rejected a guy's app, I got this reply:

I must feel sorry for your Thistle-Chaser.
You have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Confess and believe.
If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord,"
and believe in your heart that God raised him from
the dead, you will be saved.

God. The current me just wants to give Valentino's backstory a complete and utter overhaul EVEN THOUGH IT WOULD BE POINTLESS. Especially since I've already recycled his basic personality over several story characters. SEE ICON.

Ugh. Just. I don't know what 18 year old me was thinking.

Still, fun to read all that stuff again!

If you do work on his background again, there's something you should be sure to include (http://www.hot-hot-hot-catlove.com/PokeMUSH/var/www/html/byte-me/pokemush/habari/wattapicture.jpg).

Heeheehee. :D

D'awww. That was such an awesome log.

Kind of funny that I haven't played a pretty boy since then and don't care much for them now. But Valentino will always have a special place.

I can't wait to reread it. It's odd (but cool) to be reading these logs I 100% don't remember. Right now I'm reading about Thrasher, an old Rocket who was doing some kind of camera/pokemon scam. I was RPing with Bridgit (who I think was a staff alt, that Canadian person... Aris... something like that?)

Valentino will always have a special place, yes. :D

Also maaaan I forgot how bad my luck was with tournaments. The dice system did not like me one bit. :C

*laughs* That dice system was so insane to code. When copied to a word/text file, it was like three or four pages long.

But my favorite code was the weather code. To me, it really seemed to add realism to the IC world. (A bitchkitty to keep working right, but still a good idea.)

Freaking dice. The RNG just loved some people, though, and it consistently pissed me right off.

Hey, there was that time we faced out and I got a Jigglypuff and you got a damn ghost type I DON'T WANNA HEAR IT. D:

(Yes, I REMEMBER IT STILL. Ugh, I was doomed from the start.)

You know, I was just thinking about the MUSH the other day.

Do you happen to still have the website floating around with all the "staff stories"? I seem to remember something about Peppy the female Growlithe doing Thistle the genderless Golbat... Man, what a night to remember.

I looked around for the amusing cut-and-paste logs of "having god over for tea" and what not, but I couldn't find it! omg halp plz lol

Man, I was kind of a dick back in those days. There's a guest I'm just plain rude to!

Yay you found it! I didn't remember it at all.

For some reason this made me remember the ever escalating trend of really damn disturbing +pub chat title Dalton was picking up for a while.

Ha ha yes. I found an "amusing" clip from that last night.

[Pokemon Plague Channel] Soon to be DEAD! Streetwind says, "Mom, what can I do to prevent death?"
[Pokemon Plague Channel] Sophia says, "Not die."

While some were funny, it makes me sad to remember that some were serious in their mean-ness.

Thanks for tossing this up! Wrestling with Archive.org and their spectacular servers was becoming a bit of a pain, and without access to all the old logs it was sort of pointless.

Man, I wish I had been older when I joined. Special-special puppets look more fun when you're not hung up on trying to be awesome.

Happy to! :D

We as a staff were always kind of confused at how unpopular the special-special ones were. The majority of the playerbase wouldn't even hunt puppets during that week! Eventually it became a mini-vacation for us from running puppets. :P

It's too bad, really. Many of those puppets seemed like they'd be quite a bit of fun to RP. I still snicker whenever I remember that special-special Magikarp you ran for Tory--and feel disappointed that he hadn't managed to capture it (how pathetic is that, really? It thought it was dead).

All annoyance aside, I bet that break wasn't all unwanted. Producing pokemon personalities week after week sounds like a mega drain on creativity.

Me? *rolls* I don't remember that! I hope it's up on the site. I'll check tomorrow at work! :D

The worst part was that you were always telling me to tone back my puppets because most of mine tended to lean towards the special-special category. It disgruntled me because I loved my crazy broken pokemon. And oddly, even though a lot of players didn't hunt during special-special week, many of my quirky ones seemed quite well-loved.

Homigawd, this is fantastic. Much easier on the eyes than staggering through the right-click-save-as'd copies of the few logs I managed to snatch.

You need to tell some of your stories again, for old time's sake. I want to hear the story about the naughty couple again. It's gold.

EDIT: Wait, wait, what is... AAAGH those pictures! Oh god, what the hell was I thinking?!

Oh, shoot, I don't remember that one. Unless that's the same couple who sneaked around and TSed in public places, and made "yummy monster" comments about the male participant's... paraphernalia.

Man, I really do miss those days. You were so mad when I quit staff, but I was so sick. It's sick, but I dreamed for months that you would forgive me and let me back on staff. The camaraderie was really something.

...Though I must say that being on staff is also what made it so I can even stand to be in my WoW guild. If I wasn't as twisted from that experience as I am, I wouldn't be able to handle the perversity of these guys.
