Every day this week I've been more tired than the last, and every day I stay up later than the last! Hmmmm, wonder why I'm so tired? :P

It's strange, but sometimes I'm actually embarrassed for WoW. One of the two professions my hunter has is herb gathering. I've been falling behind on that to the point of it not being useful anymore, so I decided to work on it tonight. In one evening, I got 117 levels of it. (For non-WoW people, it has 450 levels total.) I did all that in one single zone, just riding in circles over and over until my eyes bled.

I'll probably dream about little glowy plants tonight!

(I feel bad saying bad things about the game, since I am enjoying it, but that's... that's just silly. It's like when I started with a new weapon, had zero skill in it. In three kills (kills! Not hours! Not days! Not weeks!) I was as high level with it as I was with any of my other weapons.)

Still loving my wolf mount! It's so much fun to lope! Lope on a lupe~ And growl at random people who come too close!

RP: Yay! Little scene to start the ball rolling on the Hunt thingie we're going to do.

Hm. I probably had more to write about than that, but572fnjklavvkfam;v;a *headkeyboard* zzz

RP was! :D :D And the neighbors ended up keeping me awake for hours last night *sob*, so I'm extra tired this morning! *sleeps on you*

So if you don't like that grinding is actually fruitful (instead of necessary for the slightest bit of progress, I'm looking at you, Korea), don't do it. A lot of people enjoy the fact that WoW is more casual than other MMOs, and wouldn't play a game that functioned as a non-paying second job.

Can't we have a compromise though? Something that isn't so easy it's silly (WoW) and something that's much worse than "a non-paying second job" (FFXI)?

I mean, do you think it's reasonable to fully skill up a weapon (well, to level 60) in three kills? What's the point of even having a skill level?

However, on the other side of the coin, on FFXI it could take months to do the same thing. That's not reasonable either.

That's not my experience with weapon skilling. When I've had to skill up from 0 to max, it's taken me a few hours. It gets slower as you get closer to max, to the point where I just stop about 5-10 points from max because those last points would take another few hours. And your skill is close enough to max that it won't affect your damage much and you'll get the last few points as you continue with your leveling/whatever.

If you want more of a challenge, you should try getting some of the achievements. There are also dungeon instances which require a group and can be somewhat difficult.

Oh that's odd. I wonder why it was different for us?

If you want more of a challenge, you should try getting some of the achievements.

I've been semi-working on that, but it's mostly just by chance. I dislike having blank spots on my map, so sometimes I just wander around to fill them in. Poof! Exploring achievement!
