Got host?

Man, I'm making a lot of posts today. You can always tell when it's a slow work day...

Anyway, I've decided I want a domain name, but I need a host for it. I don't need much space, just enough for some text and images files, no movies or MP3s or anything. Anyone have one they like? Price is less important than ease of being able to set it up and update the content and stuff.

Oh, and the name? Even though dashes lower your ranking in most search engines, I'm thinking about hot-hot-hot-catlove.com. It's funny and it would make people twitch and snicker and such. I really have no idea what I'll do with it content-wise (which is an ass-backwards way of setting up a site), but probably just some stuff about me and some logs/art and whatever.

Yeah. hot-hot-hot-catlove.com was one of the domains I gave in a short list to prove that I couldn't come up with a fitting name for one for myself, then I sort of peered at it and said 'Hey, wait...'.

...and I bet you could very nicely ask mallen to host it if you actually wanted stuff like email or a website through it. :) Maybe.

If you want to do anything more complex, I've had good luck with 100megswebhosting.com. They've got a really nice interface for managing files and mysql databases, and they'll give you ssh access if you ask nicely.

If all you want to do is put up kitty porn, though, going through byte-me is probably cheap and easy.

Grr. I have to stop typing my replies in the box in the email. New email comes in and I lose the reply I typed up. Grr.

I giggled at 'kitty porn'. Yeah, I could ask Mallen (or maybe he'll see this and comment if he minds doing it or not), but I hate hitting him up for more stuff. He hosts my MUSH and its website already (and the site is pretty big, I worry what we do to his bandwidth bill). I'll check out 100megswebhosting.com. Thanks!
