Lord, what an awful company. In reply to my 40 character email last night, I got a response saying I could only handle this by phone and had to call between 8-5 PM PST (what hours!). But, of course, they did not give me a phone number.

Went on the website, jumped through many hoops to get to the 'contact us' area, clicked on the 'by phone', got a... web form to fill out? Buh? Not a phone number in sight, anywhere on the site.

Poked [livejournal.com profile] kaelash and he had it. Of course it's not a 1-800 number...

To give credit where it's due, the guy on the phone was very nice and did try to help. Unfortunately the only solution he had was "wait 24 hours and try the restore process again". He asked me if I had seen a level one character when I did it last night, and when I said yes he said that wasn't a good sign.

Oh well. I give up. My expansion packs show as not registered, and I no longer have the registration codes for ToAU (or CoP), so I couldn't get to where I wanted to go anyway. (Almost typed Northrend instead of ToAU, ha ha.)

I have until the 31st to noodle around on a level one character if I want. Can't say I really want to, but maybe I'll be bored this weekend or something.

It would have been nice to be able to come back for a visit, but at least the door is now closed and locked. I can't ever go back, Thistle's name is gone, he's gone. (But he'll always live on in my LJ icon?)
