All my life, I've been told that generic brand items are just as good as brand name ones, that often it's actually the same item just in a different package.

Based on my limited experiences, I think that's BS.

That or the Lucky grocery chain has really crappy generic stuff.

One week I bought the Lucky brand generic pickles (the brand I like only came in really big jars, so I figured why not). They were awful. How can pickles be awful? Somehow these were.

Not having learned my lesson, this week I bought the store brand Jello (or rather, Jello-like product). It had a lot more flavors available, so I happily bought a few.

They're really, really bad. Not only is the texture all wrong (way too thick/solid, not Jello-y), but the flavor tastes very cheap.

Okay, two items might not be that big of a sample food, but my knockoff Jello is making me sad and grumpy.

Okay, you little oranges, listen up! I'm tired of you going moldy just days after I buy you! Last week I bought you on Saturday and by Tuesday you all had mold. This week you made it to Wednesday. I bought from a different stall at the farmer's market this week, one that sold nothing but citrus, so I thought I'd get higher quality and you'd last!

Same thing with you, apples from the all-apple booth. What's with the mold! :| *shakes fist at*

Stupid fruit, I cannot eat you when you are moldy, and I buy you to eat. See the issue here?

Mandarin oranges are wonderful oranges -- you can eat them at the computer! They peel easy as pie and they're not messy at all. They're my new favorite fruit. I know apples can be stored in the fridge, but I didn't think citrus was supposed to be? How the heck do I keep them from getting moldy!

Are my fruit expectations just off? Is fruit not supposed to last more than a couple days? Am I unreasonable to want my non-refrigerated citrus and refrigerated apples to last a week?

When I got home from work, I found a long message on my answering machine. The same person who emailed me called me! No form "letter" this time, she knew and mentioned my issue, apologized many times, and repeated that she'd forward it along.

I was impressed! Good work, Heinz Frozen Food folks!

How... Why was I remembering Panda Express as being good Chinese food? All the time and effort I went through to reproduce one of their chicken dishes? I gave in and went to them tonight (even though I stopped going because they generally give me endless stomach issues), and man, that was the Worst Chinese Food Ever.

If it makes me sick on top of tasting horrible...

Edit: In response to the Hurt song by Cash that I posted earlier: This is too funny! Kermit the Frog sings Hurt. *dies* (Edit, again: Though, like the Cash version, in my opinion this is a lot better if you don't watch the video, just listen. I did not need to see Kermit giving someone a blow job!)
