My back isn't broken yet, but I'd really appreciate it if the world would stop piling straw onto me.

[Rereading this post, I decided to add something positive to each point -- the other side of the coin. I'll add it in brackets.]

Weight: Two months ago I had hit my lowest number ever (200.2 SO CLOSE to being under 200!) and I never was able to get below it. I've gained seven pounds as of this morning (though this morning is unofficial, five pounds gained from official weighing date). It's just so amazingly frustrating as I'm not cheating, I'm not eating badly. [On the plus side, I'm off my high cholesterol medication, which means I'm down to one single prescription. As I used to be on four different diabetes meds and two other ones, that's a wonderful thing.]

Exercise: With my toe still not healed (seriously, I've had an open wound on my toe for months now, and I've been on antibiotics just as long) I can't do my usual exercises. There are still hand weights and pushups, but that's not the same as aerobic exercise. Which of course adds into the weight problem... [The good part is I'd be ready to do knee-high pushups if only I were willing to try. I worry that the position might put too much stress on my healing toe though. SOON! And then next will be doing pushups on the floor!]

Running: I decided there's no use waiting. Once my toe heals (if it ever does...) I'm going to try to start running. I wanted to use that "couch to 5K" app... but apparently my phone is too old to run it. An iPhone 4 is NOT that much older than an iPhone 6! It's utter BS that I cannot run what appears to be a simple app on my current phone! [All my life, I've wanted to be able to run. It was the one thing I felt like I was missing out on when I was heavier. I'm not sure if it will work for me, it might kill my knees, but I'm excited to try. SOON! As soon as my toe heals!]

Money: Adding into all that, money is still really rough. As in I'm living on my savings even though I have a full time job in the tech industry. This adds into the other issues, as in constant doctor bills for my toe ($250 per visit, weekly visits, even with insurance) and being unable to splurge and upgrade my apparently-ancient phone... [Hard to see a positive one on this point. At least I'm not homeless?]

Toe: I'm really so sick of dealing with it. My toenail was removed over a year ago, and it's never healed up since then. It reopened/re-got infected a couple months ago, and the infection is resistant to all antibiotics other than one. The pills cost $250 per pill, and I have to take them twice a day, and I'm on my third 10 day renewal of them, so the insurance company is being an ass about it. It's a constant fight with them to get my renewals, and they won't even cover a full renewal at once. I have to pick up 5 days, then the other 5 days on the day I run out of them, and the insurance has to approve it every time. It's nonstop calling, stress, and worry that I'll run out before the renewal is approved. [At least I do have insurance, so it's not all out of pocket?]

Vacation: I had the "good" idea to get a mileage credit card so I could fly home to visit my mother for free. I spent enough on it (and paid it off) to get the miles I need, but apparently it takes EIGHT WEEKS to credit the miles to you. Add to that the EXTREMELY limited number of seat options, and I doubt I'll be able to go home in June. (Seriously, a month ago, when I checked what was available in June, there were six seats for the whole month.) [Blah.]

Taxes: My mother's tax guy offered to look at my taxes and see if he could do better than the $1,000 TurboTax says I owe, but it's been about three weeks and I haven't heard back from him, even though I've emailed him multiple times since then. It's less than ten days until I have to file... [Well, I'm prepared for the worst. If he can't do any better, I was already mentally prepared to pay that $1,000...]

Life isn't supposed to be like this, you know? I work a full time "good" job. I have health insurance. I live about as far from an extravagant lifestyle as you can get. I have no children and no debt. [Hopefully things will get better soon... Money is unlikely, not until my lease is up and I can move to a smaller/cheaper place, but hopefully my toe will heal up soon and I can get back to exercising, which will help with the weight issue...]

This post was like talking to myself! :P

I need a new digital camera. My old one is at least 14 years old and is larger than... well, I was going to say normal cameras of that time, but how many people would remember those? It's darned big, let's just say that.

It's surprisingly complicated to find a new camera. They all do so many things! And cost so much! I'm not really looking to pay $200-$300 (or more!) for one. I don't even need a video recorder (which they all seem to have), I just want to take a picture of my cat when she's doing something cute. No real bells and whistles needed, just a flash and maybe a zoom.

Then I got to thinking about sending the pictures I take. Even my mother, who is a no-tech kind of person, has a phone that can take and send pictures. I've only owned two cellphones in my life, and that's only up from one because the old one was analog and all the networks stopped supporting it (though it was nearly the size of a brick, so I wasn't unhappy to trade it in).

So... putting those two things together, I could get something like an iPhone... 3G iPhone is only $99, and the iPhone 4 is $199, both much cheaper than any of the cameras I looked at.

It's funny, the iPhone looks like a mini-iPad, though I suppose it's really the opposite.

Downside would be that it's on the same network my pad is, thus would never work while I'm at work. Plus I'd have to cancel my old service (assuming my contract didn't do some kind of auto-renewing thing) and sign... or maybe it could use the same account (same price I'm already paying?) for my pad.

Arg! I don't even need a cellphone! I don't make one call a year! It must boggle people that I live in Silicon Valley and work for a tech company, but I'm really not into all this stuff.

Stupid camera. *keeps looking*

Edit: Okay, camera got. It's under $100, very very purple, and if I want to send pictures I can download them and email them. I'd feel kind of silly and a lot of redundant if I had both an iPhone and iPad.

My WoW friends are such bad influences on me. I used to never ever ever ever type in all caps, I hated it endlessly. NOW I DO IT ALL THE TIME FOR EFFECT Arg! *slaps own hands* Next thing you know, I'll be using "lol". lo-- Eh, Heehee!

Sometimes I wonder about that. My complete and utter unending hatred of "lol". Storytime, kids! Back when the Internet was new, when it actually took skill and know-how to get online, no one used lol and the like. Then AOL opened its doors and suddenly anyone and everyone could get online. All these new people were (forgive me) less than skilled. They could not type. They had no experience, they were younger, etc. Everyone knew AOLers because they were the ones who started the whole "lol" thing. So, if someone used "lol", it was a sign that they were generally stupid and/or annoying.

However, that was... lord, how many years ago now. Crap, could it have been 18 years ago? (I'M NOT THAT OLD! D: D: ) Anyway. Long, long time ago. And I've never gotten over it, seeing "lol" makes me twitch and frown. (So imagine my experience on typical message boards and games and stuff!) Why have I never gotten over that? If it really has been that long (and I think it has), then... that's like ... just crazy.

Anyway! Enough cranky old person shaking cane at all the kids on his grass.

Pizza: I feel the need to make a second report on the changes in Domino's. I ordered again last night and it was crap. Seriously. 100% different than my first report on them. Somehow it was cold, even though they delivered in about 15 minutes. "Extra cheese" is not 'barely enough cheese to cover it'. The edges of the crust were still good (mmm, garlic-y), but the rest of the pizza was trash. And please, someone tell me how "two pizzas with two toppings for $5.99 each" deal, when nothing else is ordered, comes to $20. Sheesh delivery charges!

WoW: I'm a little stresspuppy, short and stout. Here is my handle-- Wait, no, that's not right. Anyway, I'm letting the game stress me, which is VERY NOT GOOD. So! I'm going to attempt to reduce my "workload". Cooking and fishing dailies on my main, move stuff through the AH, and polar bear mount daily. PvP daily on my DK if possible. Jousting dailies can take a flying leap! ...unless I need to fill time.

RP/WoW: I count myself so lucky that I've fallen in with a wonderful group of RPers. I get good RP daily, which keeps me going. Such a wonderful, disfunctional group of (mostly) DKs. :D

While I hadn't wanted to get big into one-on-one RP again (though it isn't really, since I haven't pulled him off WoW and onto IM), I have a most wonderful RP partner! He rocks at RPing, but more than that he spoils me OOCly: He sends me daily logs of all his RP! (Can you imagine, logging RP on WoW? Not only that, he cleans the logs, cuts out spammy OOC, leaves funny OOC in a faded color, adds footnotes, HTMLizes it all up... It must take him forever! And it really helps get me through my work day. :) )

The only downside to my daily delivery of logs is how much it depresses me. It kills me that RP goes on for hours and hours after I go to bed. I get the most childish whining in my head. "But they can stay up, why can't I?" It's stupid to compare myself to them. I suspect they're mostly college kids. But... It's not fair! I want to stay up and RP, too! D:

I've been bad about my sleep again, which just makes me whine more. Cut my sleep shot for WoW on both Sunday night and last night, so I'm dead tired now. My RP has been suffering for it, too. D: I DON'T WANNA SUCK! D: (Doesn't help that my character is challenging to play. He's ultra fixed on rank/status, so how he words his dialogue is really important. I'm not exactly sure how to describe it, but it changes based on the rank of the person he's talking to. Example! If talking to a senior "I would do this for you", if a junior "You will do this for me". It's, like... (WORK BRAIN!) ...who the focus in the sentence is is what's important. Blah. IT MAKES SENSE IN MY HEAD! (Edit: Rereading that, that's a really sucky example, but I can't think of a better one! It's not the offer/command difference in the sentences, it's the... focus...)

...bad all caps. Also! One last thing! I'm posting less here now, I know. I've been posting a nightly IC blog, which gets my blogging bug out of me.

Now, to catch up on my flist! <3 you all!
