WoW, FFXI, TV
Jul. 27th, 2009 02:20 pmOn Sunday I did more WoW PvP. Four hours, on top of the three hours on Saturday. Overdose! Unfortunately it wasn't much fun at all, but mostly because the other people were some of the worst MMO folks I've ever encountered.
Can someone explain how, on an MMO, that people can argue who is a nerd? (Though I suppose I could be thankful that they were saying nerd instead of gay...)
Person #1: You're a nerd! Your armor sucks!
Person #2: No! You're a nerd! All you do is instances and XP, you know nothing about PvP!
Hours of that, on top of hours of endless people berating and belittling everyone else on the raid group chat channel. How many times did I hear "Name, you just cost us the whole entire battle by doing X!" Where X could be something as minor as fighting on a road or killing an NPC or lord knows what else.
On top of that, seven hours of all the same battlefield and we had one single win. Yes, I supposedly have fun either way, but endless losing makes it hard to see the point in trying anymore.
FFXI: It's hard to believe I quit just over a month ago. Feels like forever ago. I'm missing the stupidest things, too. Know those stairs in Ordelle's Caves that are so impossible to run up? Why in the world would I be missing doing that? Bah.
TV: WAHHHH! I thought there were six seasons of House out now, but it's only five! Which means I'm almost caught up! I'm early in the season (on ep 6 now), but this seems like the weakest season thus far. Or maybe it's just that Thirteen sucks enough to ruin the whole season.
I've been trying to figure out what to try next, so I grabbed Merlin's first season to check that out.
I've had a headache for two days now, too. Stupid sinuses, stop being hurting!

Date: 2009-07-27 11:59 pm (UTC)Why don't you like Thirteen?

Date: 2009-07-28 12:23 am (UTC)For some reason, everything about her annoys me. How she looks, her voice, her whole being sick character element. She seems to add nothing other than the chance for girl-on-girl action (which in any other case I'd enjoy). I really love the two guys, I wish I could like her as well.

Date: 2009-07-29 06:08 am (UTC)Thirteen works for me because in the early goings, she was just that much better than Amber in her CTB mode. It's not even that I don't like Amber's CTB mode, I just think it was poorly developed. So Thirteen was clearly the more interesting female characters. And I kinda like the fact everyone calls her Thirteen.
Of course, everything changed with Amber's return. From that point on, Amber was definitely the stronger character. And surprisingly, possibly the more likable character.

Agreed on all that. I didn't overly like Amber during the "interviews", but why did we need a female character at all? Unfortunately my favorite guy was dropped early on (the older fellow who wasn't a real doctor, I loved him!). ...well, I guess all TV shows need a female main character for guys to drool over and women to identify with, blah.
And Amber! I couldn't believe I was coming to like her, and the ep where she died? Wilson's Heart, I think it was? GAH. I was crying at work over it! Poor, poor, poor Wilson. *sniffles*

Date: 2009-07-29 08:33 pm (UTC)And yeah, I didn't care for Amber at all during the interviews. But nearing the end of the season she was my favorite character outside of House. She was so (surprisingly!) good for Wilson. And just knowing why she feels she *needs* to be a CTB adds so much to her character.

Date: 2009-07-29 08:38 pm (UTC)That was so strange and yet so good.
And I just finished the ep where Thirteen and Foreman kissed and I went all ewwwww! He's far from my favorite character, but still! Don't kiss that! Blech!

You know the real story behind that, right? The actor wanted to pursue a career in politics instead. There was a fair amount of news coverage.
*blinks* I had had no idea! Huh!

Date: 2009-07-29 09:32 pm (UTC)That was my sentiment as well. I like Kutner and all, but working in the white house is an incredible honor, and I can't blame him for taking that opportunity. As much as I enjoy House, M.D., it's still just a TV show.

Date: 2009-07-28 01:27 pm (UTC)As to the rewards they are generally based on X Honor or X Honor + Y Marks from Z BG (or BGs).
I'm slowly building a resilience set for my Elemental (Pew! Pew! Lightning bolt smash face!) spec. =) This will be the fourth set I've put together - 1 for Enhancement (Slash! Chop! Hack! Lightning bolt smash face!), one for Elemental, one for Enhance for PVP, and working on the PVP Ele set.
Good thing I invested in 4 Gigantique Bags (22 slot vanity bag in Shattrath from Harris Pilton) -- I need the damn space!

Date: 2009-07-28 06:08 pm (UTC)For the low low price of 1200G each you can get your own 22 slot glam-bag from her. Of course there are craftable bags with 22 slots from Wrath that are far less expensive, but I got mine pre Wrath!
104 total bag slots at present. =) But I am too FFXI trained -- I carry so much stuff I rarely have more than 20-30 available.
