[livejournal.com profile] ani_mama made me the bestest cutest icon ever! *pointpoints* Here's the way too cute larger version of it!

I'm down to the last five or so eps of House. It's very strange, but I've not been enjoying season five at all. A big part of the reason is that I "watched" them all already ("watched" as in I had them on in the background while I played on the computer, so I'm spoiled enough that I can't watch them for the first time now).

The reason why it's strange is the teams. I never liked Foremen much, and I dislike Chase a whole lot. Cameron I'm mostly indifferent about. On the other hand, I love Kutner to death, and I like Taub nearly as much. (Thirteen can jump in a pit and die into [livejournal.com profile] quistie's bed.) So if I was disliking most of the first team and liking most of the second, why did the earlier seasons work better for me? I think it was the whole baby storyline, along with the attempted Cuddy/House romance thing. The focus seems to have expanded as the series has aged?

I've only seen one promo for season six, but if that's what the whole season is going to be about (House in a mental hospital), wow that's going to be different! I suspect I'll like it a lot more than season five, too.

I'm actually getting kind of tired of House. I watched all five seasons straight through (over a matter of weeks). I'm looking forward to trying new stuff. Merlin is probably next up, then hopefully I can track down Hetalia and check that out.

I've not read fanfic in ages! I keep saying I want to find House (or some other theme) fic, but I have no clue where to find good stuff anymore.

RP is chugging along. Been spending my nights on WoW RP, which has its good and bad parts. Luckily the good generally outweighs the bad, but my tolerance for bad is so low, sometimes it doesn't seem that way. My new RP character (Keen, a rogue warrior) has gotten back into most of the circles my old one (Haken, DK) had been in, so I'm happy to be RPing with them again.

Keen's so much fun to play for multiple reasons! It's really handy when a character has IC goals. ("What? You won't hire me because you can't trust me? Okay, I'm going to get you to trust me enough to hire me, not because I want the job, but because you think you won't!") Not to mention, the whole amusement of him pretending to be a warrior. This would be all well and good if a warrior 80 hadn't decided to take him under his wing: Bought him a sword (Ack! So big!), takes him out training with it (Keen: *whines* Can't I use my dagger?), etc. This is the same guy who caught Keen robbing some chick, so it's not like he's exactly fooled or anything. :D I think he's just enjoying torturing poor Keen!

Heeheehee. RP rocks!

Edit: *ponders icons* I wonder if it's time to change my default one? Corsair Thistle (made by [livejournal.com profile] ani_mama as well!) is kind of out of date now... it still feels like me, but it's not... This one is very cute...

And, wow, you didn't like most of the first team? I mean, I still think the first team has its share of moments.

I think the whole House/Cuddy thing was the major failing of the fifth season. They teased and teased about the possibility of romance, and we ended up...back at square one. I guess it's more realistic that they don't end up together just in time for the season finale, but is there any development at all? The lack of development bothers me.

I don't dislike most of them, and they're interesting enough as characters, but as 'people'? No, not really. :}

Thistle,

off-topic, but have you seen some of the info coming out about FFXIV? Curious as to your take on it. They claim no more experience points, or level-based advancement. In addition, they've announced the 4 main jobs - Fighter, Sorcerer, Gatherer, and Crafter. Sounds awfully tailor-made to a particular crafting fiend I know...

An, nope! I haven't been following the FFXIV info at all. (I want less MMO in my life, not more! :P ) But wow... Crafter and gatherer sound like really cool jobs. Stop tempting me!

But seriously, either way, unless the entire game can be soloed, I'm not going to be checking it out. To me, the biggest thing WoW has going for it is that I don't need to try to get help to do stuff.

They're claiming FFXIV will be more solo-friendly...but even though they're saying to expect beta to kick off in September, details are fleeting presently.

I'm inclined to agree about WoW. My coworkers and friends have started up a pirate server, and our server population is about 10 right now. You almost never see other players. The only thing this really kills is PvP - we have bots to keep the AH stocked & buy things players try to AH. But most of my friends are PvE players anyway.

Yeah, but "more solo-friendly" compared to FFXI is still... painful. I hate to say it, because I looked down on it for so long, but WoW really is a good match for me right now. A big (BIG BIG) part of that is that I can RP on it -- I spend about 75% of my WoW time RPing and would be happier if it were closer to 100%.

And ah, yeah, with only 10 folks, I could see where it would be a problem for PvP, even if they were all into it.
