Pokemon: Finished

thistlechaserPlaying on a rom has one downside: Once you finish the Elite Four, that's it. No way to play further, no way to access the Unknown Dungeon. Blah. There's not much playtime left after the Four, but I still would have liked it.
When you skip no trainers and fight every battle you can, there's not much challenge at the end.
My party ended up as:
Gyarados (48), Kadabra (44), Raticate (44), Charizard (47), Haunter (43), Zapdos (63).
Zapdos, who got all seven of my Rare Candies before I started the Four, began as level 61. He one-shot most everything. Some of my pokemon (Charizard, Haunter, Raticate) were never even called out (except I sacrificed Haunter once so I could use an item without losing an attack turn).
I wish the game has lasted longer! I might replay it using all the hacks/cheats I resisted the first time.

Date: 2011-01-26 08:47 pm (UTC)Earthbound is the prime example of that. XD Playing it on a ROM, you'll have more random enemies, couple other spots it checks, and when the final boss goes into its second form, the game crashes and erases all your saves.

Date: 2011-01-26 09:40 pm (UTC)I'm starting over, with whatever darned pokemon I want. 99 master balls ftw, and codes to make whatever pokemon I want show up as the next random one. Currently I have a level 2 zapdos! :P (Might switch it out for some other, not sure yet.) Still, amusing to have such a powerful pokemon be so low level!
