That's actually how I make any gil in XI. I set a goal, and that becomes "zero" and I don't go below that. Right now I'm at 1.9mil, 1.5 is my current "zero" when I get to about 2.2mil then 2 will become the new "zero". I've been doing it for years but this is the first time I've done it where there wasn't really an end point or goal. At this points it's basically stockpiling for the future (since we still have 2 more level cap increases to go and who knows what kinda gear there will be). Although if I had like 100mil I'd probably just not care anymore and laugh maniacally to myself every time I look at my gil total.
Also, I love the "snowflake" term. I listen to AM radio and the one early morning host is constantly going on about the "snowflake generation" and the "Coulton's" about how they won't be able to grow up to do anything since when they hit the real world and learn that, they can indeed, fail at something they won't know how to handle it and their heads will explode.
Did you know they have Pull-string Pinata's?! (http://www.coolest-kid-birthday-parties.com/pinata.html) So instead of smashing it with a PVC pipe or a baseball bat or a stick you pull strings to get a bottom trap-door to open (multiple strings, only 1 opens the door).
