Googling "Naked dungeon run" gives surprisingly work safe results! But not the information I'm hoping for...



While I have only mentioned this in passing and not run it by guild officers yet (Hi Wil!), I'd like to have more information before I make it into some kind of official proposition.

I'd like to arrange a naked guild run of some (dungeon? raid?). Most players will be 85, though not all. The idea is to go in with nothing, no armor, no weapons, (probably no pets?), and you can only wear or use things that drop during the run.

If I can arrange this to be IC, all the better (I have Ideas on how). If it can only be OOC, that's likely fine too.

The biggest issue I have is my lack of personal knowledge on dungeons. I don't do them. Any suggestions on ones that might be fun and won't be an utter cakewalk for naked 85s? Can't be too hard either, the goal here isn't for people to die endlessly.

RP makes things take longer, so if it's IC it should probably be just a plain dungeon.

Are there some that might be in the right level range and are considered fun? Some must be more fun than others, right? What level range should I be looking for, for naked 85s?

Drops are not the goal, though I suppose spiffy mounts or pets would be bonus.

Hmm, if we go in on our own (not through LFD), we won't be limited on numbers if it's a plain dungeon, right?

Go do a naked Molten Core for shits and giggles. XD Then you wouldn't be limited to just 5 people at a time.

Some pets are stupid OP even without the player having gear, so keep that in mind, plus casters would still pack a punch. You might wanna set rules melee only, or only healing or whatever. I mean, an 85 priest/warlock non-heroic geared can still solo some heroic wrath dungeons.

Also, LFD will only put you in the Cata dungeons if you're all 85, so that isn't an option.

I'm thinking a raid would be better so we're not limited on folks, yeah. No pets too! FOR SCIENCE! gnome writes:

"Please note that weapons, armors, pets, food, or anything else from the non-treated area should not be brought in, so as not to unduly influence the results. Light cloth clothing may be worn for modesty purposes."

I didn't name demons in that, but I don't think the guild has any warlocks.

Back at the dawn of time when I was Alliance, we did this with Deadmines. I think we did a couple of others too, and did it as a race - all the teams of five competed nekkid, and whoever finished first got a prize. It was good times.

So sad that Knuckle Sandwich is a feat of strength now. Mostly because I never bothered to get it, and it would work for Wil.

I think we can swing this as both IC and spontaneous. Let me write up an IC letter from as-yet-unnamed NPC guy and we can see where it goes from there. Worse comes to worst and they turn down the job (which may not be unreasonable), we can do it fully OOCly.

And yeah, one of my oldest alts has Knuckle Sandwich, but I haven't been crazy enough to do it again.
