Terra Nova

I first heard of Terra Nova a couple months ago, and even before seeing the show, I knew I'd need dinosaur icons. This was the show I was most looking forward to seeing out of the whole fall season.
If you know nothing about it, it starts in the future. The Earth is dying, blah blah, a time rift is found and people go back to start new in a clean world, one filled with dinosaurs. Sounds pretty darned cool, huh? And it runs on a major network (Fox).
Someone on LJ described the show as Stargate: Dinosaurs, which wasn't totally inaccurate, other than the stargate was a one-way trip.
I expected to have to suspend some disbelief, and in the beginning of the show I was even willing to suspend a metric crapload of it (which is good, since that's how much unrealistic stuff there was). I mean, a show about going into the past to live with dinosaurs! How cool is that! Totally worth whatever setup is needed to get the main characters into place!
By the end of the show, I was already questioning if I'd be interested in more eps. The CGI was okay (and it needed to be outstanding). The storyline was god awful. I didn't care about any of the characters at all.
Did anyone else watch it? What did you think? (I feel like Thistle McGrumpyPants lately, I seem to hate all movies and TV!)
Edit: I know I'm *cough* kinda down on religious stuff *cough* sometimes, so I especially like this video. Er, not because it's down on anyone, but it explains things in a fun way! A nerd is a nerd is a nerd... Credit for link to
