One funny and one horrible (in a good way).

Apparently this is a new thing. "Bad Lip Reading". Michele Bachmann's campaign ad outtakes. "Jackpot fishy poopy pants!"

To be fair, here's one of Obama:"Let's creep in a large office and make friction after we eat lunch..." The whole site of them is here.

The horrible is great, but horrible eeek! Everyone is watching The Walking Dead, right? Second season starts on the 16th! There's a six ep webisode short story that explains one of the zombies from season one. SO SAD.

Part one. Parts two to six are linked from there. I made an embarrassingly loud noise of surprise twice and covered my head with my arms once. In less than 30 minutes of footage! It always amazes me when this kind of thing is free. Watch it! But not while alone in the dark with zombies.

In RP news, I did my first cross-faction RP tonight! Er, not counting Pembroke stuff (*snugs a worgen*). The guy was really good, I met him through the IC Twitter project. I would have liked to have RPed more, but he had to go and I had another scene waiting for me.

Glee stuff got long, so I'm cutting it.Glee night. This was my favorite ep of the season so far (which isn't saying much, I know). Lots of high points in this ep: Loved the Brittney song. LOVED Mike Chang's stuff, especially his dancing and seeing people in his head. LOVED Chang's mother, loved loved loved her endlessly (*sniffles* So happy!).

The bad Glee stuff was... bad. I found the whole "Asian F" idea mildly offensive. The "joke" that Coach Beiste eats an endless amount of food is so very not funny (big person eating a lot, ha...ha...ha... And the scene where she talks with her mouth full on camera? Seriously?). Why exactly does
Mercedes, a large black woman, have to have a large black man as a boyfriend? Rachel has done so many distasteful things in the series so far that I don't even like seeing her anymore. The whole ginger supremacy thing... gah. "God hears me better on my knees"??

Kurt confuses me. I dislike him greatly when he's alone (no idea when that happened), but Kurt with Blaine? I melt, they're just too sweet together.

Even with all the bad stuff, this may have been my favorite Glee ep ever, based on one scene: Mike Chang and his mother dancing. I don't usually cry! Seriously! Never! Yet the other day I did over RP and this silly scene had me all tearing up. Why can't Glee be like this all the time?!

So, funny you should mention Walking Dead in this. I was bored and running out of stuff to watch (I seriously shouldn't have tried the older shows I'd been meaning to see, Battlestar Galactica Stargate, etc. after watching Misfits... that show is so awesome...) so I nabbed the first season. I actually didn't even realize the second one starts up in a few days. I just, y'know, started watching it.

I both love it and hate it. One of my favorite movies is 28 Days Later, and this has the same feel (not to mention the same "oh noes I just woke up from a coma and the world is going MAD!" - and that's totally not a spoiler since it happens within the first couple minutes of the bloody pilot episode) so I approve of it overall. My only issue? It's... freakier than I thought. Not so much when I'm actually watching it, but then I tend to overthink it later. So far I've seen the pilot and the first episode and last night I had all sorts of freaky dreams. With a little bit from Humann Centipede (Full Sequence) thrown in there since I'm a retard and decided to read the synopsis on Wikipedia before determining if I felt like looking at the newly-released trailer. I passed on said trailer.

Call me a huge wuss, zombie stuff usually doesn't bother me in the least, but this was so well-done that it actually felt real. Don't mind that I have no idea why or how this whole zombie thing happened (I guess some sort of disease or something, since they mention the fever), it's still creepy and realistic. And giving me bad dreams. But I wanna find out what happens so bad...

In other news, I'm going to be singing "So let's creep in the frozen isle and think one thought..." all day.

YES. 28 Days Later was when I first started getting scared of zombies. (And boy, doesn't that sound like a silly thing.) But Walking Dead seriously reinforced it. Did you watch the webisodes? It does mention a zombie you'll see later, but... well, okay, maybe you SHOULD wait, I just wanted to see if you'd react like I did. I was pausing the darned thing every minute or so (I was watching it while RPing) and TWICE it still made me cry out -- loudly! In surprise and... not fear exactly, but startled/wanting to run the hell away. :P

And ooooh, you should so much watch Battlestar Galactica! And if you want dark, watch the Stargate series backwards (Universe, Atlantis, SG1). If you want silly/funny/light-hearted, watch the series in the correct order.

When I first watched 28 Days Later I had to sleep with the light on that night. Really, at this point I should be so "meh" over zombies, but some things manage to do it right and it freaks me out. Walking Dead is definitely done right. I just now finished the six episodes (WHAT, that's a whole season? Stupid place to end, gah! I'm sort of glad I didn't watch it sooner, what a cliffhanger!) and I'm gonna check out the webisodes now. I've heard it features "bicycle girl" and I'm half curious... though at the same time I have a niggling feeling it'll be depressing as hell. But with stuff like this I can't just stop halfway through, because not knowing how it ends only makes things worse than if I chicken out and can't keep going. Then I sit there and ponder and ponder and freak myself out more...

I know I do! It's one of those things on my list. Everybody says I need to watch it, and I keep trying to... but there's always other stuff that pops up that I watch instead. I think I've managed two or three episodes of SG1, and it just hasn't "hooked" me so far. Once I'm done with Walking Dead, though, I'll keep trying. I should probably try it backwards, like you suggested, but I feel weird watching it out of order. I'm one of those sticklers.

I thought 28 Days Later scared me because they were fast, but Walking Dead ones aren't fast. Maybe it's just 'countless of them' that's scary, and the Days Later ones being fast just makes it worse...

Let me know what you think of the webisodes! It wasn't about who I thought it was, but I was 100% satisfied with who it was about. (Eeeeek, sad!)

And let me know what you think of BSG/SG, once you see those!

Dunno if you saw it or not, but I my thoughts on the webisodes of Walking Dead is below! That said, I showed them to Alex (he hasn't seen the show) and he liked it. Though...we both sort of raised our eyebrows at the line the daughter says at the end. That was...um. Odd. It just seemed unnatural. But eh!

Also, I downloaded/watched what is available of Terra Nova. I like it - it's got dinosaurs! I like dinosaurs. Not great overall, but when you're stuck feeding a baby with no hands free for hours a day you end up lowering your standards for the sake of entertainment.

I got Homeland too, gonna give that a go today or tomorrow. I will get around to BSG and SG.. eventually...

Oh, somehow I missed it!

I'm glad you're enjoying Terra Nova, too. I do like the dinosaurs! I just wish it had a better storyline...

WOO Homeland! Let me know what you think! At least it will be easy to catch up on, only two eps so far!

Okay, so I haven't finished the second episode of Homeland... but gah. I don't like the maine at all. AT ALL. He seems so untrustworthy. Maybe it's just because of the flashbacks and my being influenced by the CIA chick, but dang. Creepy dude is creepy. I'm super curious about the truth of the matter, because it seems like she's got a legit case going here. But at the same time... that seems far too obvious. So I'm kinda waiting for the "dun dun duuuuuun... the plot thickens!" moment.

P.S. Apologies for the sort of retarded way I've been typing latey, been doing it one-handed with baby on my lap.

*resists making typing-one-handed jokes* ;)

But the marine was in captivity for eight years! Held by Taliban people! Doesn't it make sense he'd be "off" somehow? WAIT UNTIL YOU GET TO THE END OF THE SECOND EP! Eeeeeeeee/Eeeeeeeeek!

The flashbacks hold my attention so much! Gah! He was a marine, the things they (apparently) made him do!

But the CIA woman is really rather creepy, too. Obsessed much? (Edit: AND AND AND Hit on your boss much to try to get out of trouble?!)

I LOVED the hand... part. Twitches, signals, whatever they were. Doesn't it make sense that he would have some kind of nervous tics going on? The experts found no pattern in it! So was CIA lady just seeing stuff that wasn't really there?

Of course he's off! But he's too off. He's creepy off. AND HE'S ONE OF THEM OMGWTFBBQ!! I KNEW IT! *cackles evilly* I KNEW IT. BWAHAHA...

The show's a little slow, putting it all into perspective. But the tiny little tidbits of information they give you drive you mad in-between watching periods. Which makes it totally worth it. It makes you want the next tiny bits of information so bad.

And the neat thing is, it's sort of so open for interpretation that we're both seeing it from different perspectives! See, I viewed a lot of those flashbacks as him turning... they made him do stuff like that to prove his loyalty.

The CIA woman is obsessed, but they're sort of making it sound like she missed something that led to 9/11 and feels like its entirely her fault. So no wonder she's obsessed! The hand thing was awesome. What a simple, obvious way of communicating!. Just because the CIA didn't find a pattern means nothing! Maybe they're looking at it wrong. Like... like... what if it's super subtle, like a meaning as opposed to actual words?

Hee. It will be fun comparing notes with you. I'm curious to see where it leads.

HA! See? The end made me all ARG WHAT DOES IT MEEEEAN!

And agreed, the second ep had some slow moments, but then you'd get a piece of information and it'd be worth it.

On the flashbacks, I sort of agree. I'm sure they were trying to turn him (how could they not try?), and it seems to have at least partially worked (END OF EP TWO ARG). But now that he's in America and free, does it hold? Does it all hold? Or just some things, like THE END OF EP TWO ARG.

The one guy had a line "We all missed something ten years ago", so I think the CIA lady (one day I'll learn their names...) was just blaming herself more than she should have.

Yes, to both things! I just wished more people watched it. Or, rather, posted about watching it.

See, I think they prepared for that - how could you not? Just because someone says they're loyal while in captivity doesn't guarantee their loyalty once they've been set loose. Could they really afford to take such a huge risk? I think they'd make 100% sure that he's turned right and proper. And back it up with... I don't know. Something. It's way too fun to sit here and speculate about how it all could've happened. I'm sitting here writing a little story in my head about how they didn't bother trying to turn the black guy, but White Marine Guy (I'm with you, I'll get the names eventually...) exhibited something, perhaps some desperate desire to live, that they thought he might be malleable enough to turn... *cough*

The one guy had a line "We all missed something ten years ago", so I think the CIA lady (one day I'll learn their names...) was just blaming herself more than she should have.

I totally think she's blaming herself more than she should, it'd be really hard to pin the entire thing on a single person. But wouldn't you feel pretty horrible if you were someone who had access to information that might have tipped you off to something... and didn't see it? I'm sure there were a lot of people who may or may not have had access to said information, and may or may not feel responsible. I mean, heck, I'm the sort of person that tends to feel bad over things I had little control over. It's pretty normal. Plus, y'know, she's apparently half crazy anyway. Hehe.

Yeah... I'm having way too much fun with this. I'm probably gonna overthink everything like crazy and end up completely and totally wrong. Then you can laugh at me!

CAN you do that though? Honest question, I have no idea!

I'm sitting here writing a little story in my head about how they didn't bother trying to turn the black guy, but White Marine Guy (I'm with you, I'll get the names eventually...) exhibited something, perhaps some desperate desire to live, that they thought he might be malleable enough to turn... *cough*

Now, while home, he sounds really anti-war. In the second ep, he and his soldier (captain?) friend talked about it, he called it a senseless war or something like that. Was that his opinion before the war or after eight years of capture?

By the way, wouldn't this make for the best fanfic ever? I hope more people start following it and writing! (And that I learn the names by then. :P )

I totally think she's blaming herself more than she should,

I think that's part of her craziness. And part of the reason I don't trust her. She IS crazy. She's seeing no one about it. She's getting drugs under the counter from her sister. Is she good? Yes. Is she trustworthy? How could a crazy person be? (I'm dying to know if the hand twitching thing was real or not!)

I'm probably gonna overthink everything like crazy and end up completely and totally wrong. Then you can laugh at me!

Oh, ha, like I have a better chance of being right than you? I wonder if we have a 50/50 chance of being right or if there is some third option. Or, worse, if the season ends without us knowing either way!

Speaking of, did you know Weeds has probably ended for good? By choice, not by ratings. The writers think it's time to end it and the actors are all out of contract now.

Not really... but I'd imagine you'd have failsafes in place, just in case. Dun dun duuuuuuuuuuun...

Now, while home, he sounds really anti-war. In the second ep, he and his soldier (captain?) friend talked about it, he called it a senseless war or something like that. Was that his opinion before the war or after eight years of capture?

I'm not sure! That's one that could really go either way. I've known people who go into the military for no other reasons other than to reap the benefits - which are pretty nice, if you don't take into consideration the whole, y'know, going to war thing. These people are in it just to get school paid for, get a good chunk of money, benefits, etc. They care not a bit about their country, or serving and protecting, or whatever. It's just easier for them than trying to get a job outside the military. So he could be one of those... or he could have changed his mind. Because he's actually a bad guy!!! Or because he saw war is hell. Or. Um. Something.

And yes! This would make epic fanfic. Of course, I could see people making it more than just average fanfic as well, which I think would flat-out squick me because I don't find marine guy hot at all... *cough* Oh yeah, my mind's in the gutter tonight.

I think that's part of her craziness. And part of the reason I don't trust her. She IS crazy. She's seeing no one about it. She's getting drugs under the counter from her sister. Is she good? Yes. Is she trustworthy? How could a crazy person be?

This is what's driving me insane. Aside from being utterly obsessed with her hunch (which could simply be guilt-driven over the 9/11 thing...) she doesn't seem super crazy. Yes, she's on meds. Yes, she's hiding the fact so she doesn't get her job messed up. But how crazy is she really? What if she's actually got it all under control? I mean, she might not be seeing anybody about it, but even the under-the-counter drugs might be working fine. She could just be a very determined person!

Or, worse, if the season ends without us knowing either way!

DO NOT EVEN SAY THAT.

Speaking of, did you know Weeds has probably ended for good? By choice, not by ratings.

This is good. I'm actually impressed with them! That happens rarely, but it's so much better than letting a series drive itself into awfulness. I actually couldn't make it past... I think the first few episodes of the sixth season, just because I really feel like it got ridiculous and couldn't go further. I think you said it gets better about that, but eh. I just couldn't. Feels like it could've ended way earlier. But I'm glad they're not dragging it on forever and ever and ever!

Oh yes. There are a ton of benefits... assuming you survive whatever wars they toss you into.

Of course, I could see people making it more than just average fanfic as well, which I think would flat-out squick me because I don't find marine guy hot at all... *cough* Oh yeah, my mind's in the gutter tonight.

There can be good, hot fanfic for less than attractive characters! There was a heck of a lot of the hottest fanfic ever for Snape from Harry Potter and he was a greasy, big-nosed ugly fellow.

My mind has certainly gone off in the direction of fanfic potential for this show. I bet (HOPE) there will be a ton of fic set when the marine was captured -- all the torture and "retraining" (or whatever they call it). ...er, that sounds kind of wrong, heh.

Yes, she's on meds. Yes, she's hiding the fact so she doesn't get her job messed up. But how crazy is she really? What if she's actually got it all under control? I

As fast as her boss (handler? the older fellow, not the black guy) bought into the finger tapping idea, I suspect that all those CIA folks are a little crazy (such a scary thought). They're likely all obsessed to one degree or another.

Or, worse, if the season ends without us knowing either way!

DO NOT EVEN SAY THAT.

Ha, I know! :D

And yeah, I'm kind of glad Weeds will end with good ratings. It did go very downhill, then it got good again, but where is there left for them to go? She was married to the president of Mexico or whatever he was, king of all the Mexican drug trade... There's nothing much bigger than that.

I was right. It was depressing as hell. Part of me was sitting there the whole time going, "OMG, people! Don't be retarded!!" I mean, obvious zombie apocalypse is obvious, right? But then... it's only obvious to those of us nerdy enough to be inundated with zombie movies/video games/whatever. I guess not everybody knows "What To Do In The Event Of A Zombie Apocalypse." So the obvious isn't as, y'know, obvious.
