Best (most disturbing) spam comment ever

A spammer commented on a post from a LJ I forgot I had. ed_the_hyena was a RP journal from when I had played Ed from the Lion King. The group would offer a subject each week, and everyone would write about that and RP from there. The post was a response to the week's topic: How did you lose your virginity?

Being it was Ed, it had to be... special. I think I succeeded.

So after Ed talks about that, the spammer posted: "Hey This is hard for me because I have never done anything like this.. but I have a huge crush on you. I have never been able to tell you for reasons which you would quickly identify as obvious if you knew who this was. I'm really attracted to you..."

*rolls* Oh my, what you must be like if that's what attracts you! (I know the bot is posting the same thing in lots of LJs, it just fits there so well/horribly!)

Edit: Bah, LJ automatically screened the comment after the fact. The above quote is the whole thing though, other than a URL. I'm trying to remember the account's password...

I got the same quote on an old RP post from like 2005. The weirdest thing is, I got the notification on a post that was made by a journal I don't control, that was full of comments by other journals that I don't control. I had nothing whatsoever to do with that post with any of my sock journals, and yet somehow I still got the notification. I have no idea how that happened.

That's very odd! Maybe a bug in the code since it was so long ago?

It's strange that these spammers are targeting such old LJs. I got one on a different RP journal from years back. On the plus side, I get to read these long forgotten posts again, as if for the first time!

I've gotten that same spam comment on a ton of past LJs (most of them rplog journals I haven't touched in ages and many I don't even remember the password to).

Happily, I remembered the password to this one. I feel bad sitting on a good name, but I like it and I hope one day I use it for something.

It's funny. The very instant I saw ed_the_hyena, I immediately thought of that exact thing. So very funny, so very in-character. I'd say it's hard to look at Ed the same way again, but, well, we use the internet every day. ;)

Ha ha yes. Poor Ed has been in much worse situations! And thanks. :D

... You know, Ed might have been the start of my trend of playing mentally slower characters. :P
