So much this. And it's eighteen years AT THE LEAST. Do kids ever really grow up and stop needing things? My sister is 40 and my mother just had to fly across country to her to help during/after a medical emergency. A KID IS FOREVER
I totally feel you on the last paragraph, too. I feel like I'd (probably?) be a good parent for a kid. I'd make sure they were educated well, I'd show them how wonderful books are. I'm financially stable and would certainly share interests with a kid (YAY SOMEONE TO PLAY WITH).
If I were going to do this (NOT THOUGH), I'd adopt or take a foster kid. The idea of a baby growing INSIDE me (HI PARASITE) and me giving birth? OH HELL NO THANKS
