Well, basically because of your review I picked up the first from the library. The first several pages I was thinking...first person present tense, written-out dialect, ugh, but the world-building is intriguing...and now I'm two chapters in and okay, I am hooked! (I shouldn't say your review - your positive encouragement - I haven't actually read anything about it as per your suggestion to be unspoiled!)
