Sleep Study 2.1

I don't think I've ever dealt with a less professional medical office.
Sleep study 1.0, my first attempt last month, the instruction sheet they handed out was very lacking in, you know, instructions. The tech (the one with the worst breath I ever encountered in my whole life) didn't give me verbal instructions about it, so I was uncertain exactly how the recording device should be set up. There had been two screens, one that had a spinning disk which looked like it was recording and the other was a lock icon. Which would you pick if you wanted to record?
Trick question, it was neither! Or rather, both. This second tech walked me through it. You start on the recording screen and push a button twice, which makes you go to the lock screen, then you push the same button once, which takes you back to the first screen. Somehow people are supposed to know that. You get one instruction sheet, but it covers where to put all the sensor things, nothing about recording.
So I got home and settled in, when the sleep lab called me. They forgot to put an item into the package, so I had to make another trip back. 20 minute drive each way.
Sigh.
On the plus side (minor, minor plus side) they're going to rush my results instead of another 2-3 week wait. So, if it fails again, at least I'll know sooner.
Now I just need to be able to sleep with sensors and wires and such taped to me from cheeks to ankles.

Date: 2014-05-06 04:54 am (UTC)I do hope it comes back negative. That breathing machine is annoying. My uncle has one. It really helps his sleeping, but takes lots of getting used to.
