Seems like Google/gmail has a new way of advertising, ads directly in your mailbox:



Ironic, they're so good at letting you filter out spam, then they add their own spam in its place.

I use Ad Block too, but they're showing up. Are they not a new thing then? Maybe Google figured out how to get through Ad Block...

You might be opted into Adblock's setting that allows "unobtrusive" ("they gave us money") advertising. If that isn't the case, you may be able to set a custom filter to remove those. I couldn't tell you exactly how, though, since I switched to uBlock Origin some time back.

Oh ho ho! You're right, that's checked! Either it somehow got checked or it slipped through since I got my new machine (unlikely, it's been months now).
