The ellipses thing is so odd and interesting, I do it too. My brain translates pauses into it, so if I wrote as I naturally wanted to... they'd be all over the place. Like there!
Makes sense to use your phone a lot if you're not at the computer all the time. If I'm awake, I'm pretty much at or near a computer, so it's easier for me to do it there.
