The book's set-up made little sense, and I tried not to question it (for once). It was a very old space station (so I assume humans had been in space a while? But there was never any mention of that either way). The captain was the only person who ran the space station (or at least no other people were mentioned), and the only person on it, until the boy's parents arrived to do their science stuff. Why? Why have only one person there? Seems like a space station would be useful for lots of things.
The robots were seriously high tech (AI), and yet the space station was falling apart -- sections of it dusty, abandoned, and without air.
I can't recommend the book. I wanted something light, and this filled that bill, but it just wasn't good.
