All summer I was in an apartment with AC. I used it three times. Two of those three times I could have easily done without it. Once was necessary because I had used the self-clean on the oven and didn't realize it would heat up my apartment by literally 20 degrees. So, weather-wise, I didn't need to use the AC even once.

Move to a new apartment with no AC. Less than a week later, heat wave. 90 outside (which is also 7 degrees hotter than where I used to live ONE TOWN OVER, five minute drive away). Evening and it's still hot outside, and way hotter inside. And it's going to be even hotter tomorrow.

The one plus side to this is that, since I'm in the temporary apartment, it has a bedroom window and is on the second floor, so I can leave it open at night. (Leased apartment has no bedroom, let alone bedroom window, and is on the ground floor.) If I couldn't get a cross-breeze going, I'd be really miserable.

Next summer is going to be fun...

Not enjoying this heat wave either (it's hot in SF, too, and none of the houses here have AC). At least we can hide in the AC at work!

Yeah! And it's actually cold in the early mornings/night, so I have hopes of this not lasting long.

Feels so strange, I had the heat on in my car this morning, then come home and dying of the heat.

I thought I could, but man this is no way to live. It's currently 95 in my apartment, and we're not to the hottest part of the day yet...

I feel like I might! Sitting with a soaking wet t-shirt and wet hair, letting a fan blow on me.

Tomorrow hopefully! High of 80 instead of 95.

is there a window you could put a window AC unit in? We've got one we use in our bedroom that sits inside, about the size of a dehumidifier and has a vent hose that gets installed in a window, it's loud but it works really well.

I'm seriously thinking about that! I also need one of those big box fans...

Well, at the very least fall is coming soon? Temperatures will drop eventually? We're having a heat wave here too (NYC) and I'm just like "why?!" I'm so done with summer already. I managed to survive all of June/July with no AC but in August I finally cracked. I got so tired of just being HOT all the time even with the fan in my face. Electric bill shot through the roof but so worth for the comfort of full-nights sleep.

Yeah, that's the only thing getting me though this: Fall is coming! Soon I'll be cold instead of hot! And then I'll complain about being too cold. :P
