One weekend = ?skip=200 Blah!
Apr. 25th, 2005 08:56 amEvery Monday morning I come in to 200 or so new posts on my friends list. I always say I'll trim back my list, but that never happens. I can't skim/make filters cause it's all stuff I want to read. *shakes fist* Darned you interesting people! :)
The weekend was unremarkable. Poor weather, poor mood, nothing exciting.
FFXI: The weekend should have been exciting in FFXI-land, but for RL reasons it wasn't. (Oops. I took screenshots and edited them last night, but I see idiot me forgot to upload them. Sorry!)
Friday: We did the giant CoP 3-5 fight: Diabolos. (No spoilers in this post.) I wish I had the screnshot of what he looked like, because he was *darned* big. But anyway, we got to the BC (burning circle, where the fight took place), got ready, and entered. For the first 99% of the fight, we owned him. It was a walk in the park. ...then dark weather hit, and everything turned around. He had so little HP left that we couldn't even see it on the bar, but our hits did nothing and he was hurting us badly. We died, reraised, and died again. Growl. After getting tossed out of the BC and raised, we went back in a second time, and won. Without the dark weather, it was pretty darned easy... but not satisfactory at all. Work on Friday was hellish, so I really was in a poor mood to do this fight. That might be part of why the win didn't feel so good... but that we should have won the first time was the bigger part. The first fight was the better fight (on his part and ours) and it was only because dark weather started (something we had ZERO control over) that we lost.
Our party works so well together, it made me angry that something that we couldn't control killed us. (Our party is so good that even when we're "non-traditional" we still have an easy time of it -- everyone said a PLD tank in this battle would be doomed, but Niala rocked.)
But anyway, we won. Got access to the AH and mail service in the Safehold. Got spiffy titles. Saw endless cut scenes. Yay.
Saturday: Leveled woodworking from 52-59. Noticed how profitable scorp arrows are and how fast they sell in Jeuno, so kept making them even once I couldn't skill. Made and sold scorp arrows endlessly until Sunday night, and ended up with 900K gil. *boggle* I now have the most money I've ever had (more than in the rusty cap days) and am firmly in "more money than I know what to do with" territory. (Leveled bonecrafting to 53 in making the arrowheads. Love bonecrafting. Love it.)
Once more, I really, really question ever going back to leather. If I can make 900K in two days (withouth hardly HQing at all), why would I go back to another craft? I don't think months and months of leathercrafting would get me 900K, let alone make profit while skilling it!
Sunday: No static party this week, but that was fine as I had been out of bed by 6:30 AM and was Too Damned Tired to do much of anything. I briefly considered asking someone to help me get into EN so I could look for a coffer, but I was too tired to focus on things and figured that it would get me killed. Instead I asked if people in my static would help kill some NMs (special monsters) to help get a piece of my AF, and they agreed! By the time we were ready to go, we had like 10 people (heehee) and many/most in the high 60s and low 70s. *snicker* Poor mobs hadn't had a chance! And I got my AF boots! YAY YAY YAY! Just two more levels and I can wear them! Unfortunately they're utterly useless stats-wise, but who cares!
So other than the AF run for myself and Ead, I just made arrows all day. It was boring, but mentally I couldn't deal with more of a challenge, so it worked out.
Oh, and Merlee gave me a red rose. <3 <3 <3
