Almost too hot to update...
Jul. 3rd, 2005 08:19 pmIt's kind of cool outside, but I have just way too much electronic stuff inside. Hot hot hot. Bah.
The day was both busy and uneventful, odd though that may sound. Oh, and this is FFXI-only. The only other thing I'd be posting about right now is The Admin, and you all are probably more tired of hearing about that than FFXI. One day I'll expand my interests, just so I can keep my flist better entertained. :P
So our main job static was today, but for the very first time ever most of us didn't level. That sucks, especially since the reason we didn't was a bad one: We started an hour late and ended early. If not for one of those two reasons, we could have hit 57 tonight. Bah. (But on the plus side, at least I finally have a week with a death buffer! Dying would still be bad, but at least I wouldn't delevel.)
After static, we did Sandy Missions 6.1 and 6.2 again! Heh! We had a bunch of people who didn't get to do it yesterday, so we just made the run again today. Unlike yesterday, today wasn't even a challenge -- or rather, the challenge was trying to get a swing in before the mobs fell over dead. But at least I'm high enough to be able to actually help, at least somewhat.
And that's about that. Ceh and I are doing G3 tomorrow, and hopefully that'll go well. (Non-players: After a certain level, you need to do a special (usually very hard) quest to extend your maximum level another 5 levels till you hit the final cap of 75. G1 and G2 you need a group for, G3 and G4 are soloable or can be done with a small group, and G5 is... scary. A one-on-one fight against someone of your own job with extra abilities that you don't have.)
Oh, screenshots! I took tons of screenshots, but almost none of them came out well. I'm strongly suspecting that Fraps SUCKS as a screenshot tool (I think it delays a second or two in taking them, which is why I suddenly keep missing good shots). I'm going to switch back to Clipper, and just run Fraps when/if I want to capture video.
The one good shot I have wasn't taken by me. Chip was taking a picture of Niala's new armor, but got an outstanding shot! Tell me this wouldn't make a good movie poster. :) Niala in her high level PLD armor, with pretty-boy Ead and manly me flanking her! And how funny is it that that shot actually makes me look good in that horrible orange chocobo outfit? I hate that stuff, wish it wasn't as useful as it is...
