Blarh (FFXI)

I tell you, there's nothing like seeking (and failing to get) a party for nine hours straight that can really kill your mood.

After all those hours of sitting around, idly farming and attempting not to bite anyone's head off, I gave up, took down my flag, and went off to do the Pulling the Strings solo ENM60 BC. I beat it again (yay!), and got 2K XP (thank god for getting something out of this day).

I swear, the rolls are really stacked against you in the fight:

1) Mannequin did a bash move (don't ask me why that's a roll result when I have it naturally, but it seems to be that thing that he wins but doesn't get written to my log).
2) Mannequin's TP increased to 225%.
3) I got an attack bonus. (...woo... It lasts for two whole swings.)
4) Mannequin recovered 126 HP.
5) Mannequin's TP increased to 300%

It took me three bets to get in this time (32K, ouch!) and I used only four hi pots this time (yay). I farm a minimum of 20 hi pots before I let myself do this, and since I sell off all the extras at least that covers the cost to get in.

After that I worked on RDM (if I can get it up to 15 then I can chocobo and getting to the Dunes will be less painful). Went from 12->13 tonight. Sadly I picked a really bad place to try to XP and had to be rescued by a LS person when I got trapped by a pair of T orcs. Bah. Felt stupid and annoyed. Two more levels and then I can go be stupid and annoyed in the Dunes.

While waiting for a party invite I went to the Coast to XP my NPC, and the weather turned to stormy. I kept ducking RL because these big masses of black kept appearing overhead: Something's very wrong with that sky. It was hard to catch a screenshot of it, imagine that with the black twice as large. NPC dinged something, but I forget what. 38 maybe. I like him with the great katana much better than with the H2H weapon, because the sword is so much sexier. He looks really cool holding it. (His damage is laughable, no matter what weapon he uses. He hits for ~20 and I hit for ~250.)

I have no idea what I'm going to do tomorrow. I really want to XP DRK, but I don't want to spend the whole day sitting there without invites. :(
