Not at the last minute this time!

What I'm currently reading

I fished the third Fjorgyn book and posted the review of that. I started Good Omens, but dropped that. It was good, but the problem is it was exactly like the TV series (or reverse, I know), so it felt like I wasn't reading anything new. I'll give it another try once some time has passed.

I started reading a new book earlier today, though I can't recall the name and my Kindle isn't at hand. A "talking animals" book, about a dog who has been passed through a bunch of owners. Seems like it might be good, though I'm only a couple pages in.

What I'm currently watching

Usually I watch one show at a time, so this week has been schizophrenic. In no special order:

The Man in the High Castle: Only one new ep, because I can't multitask while watching. Still loving it.

Aftermath: A scifi show from 2006. About the end of the world, only more. Not just is the sun going dark, not just is the world being crashed into by meteors, there are demons and dragons and plagues and all sorts of craziness. The special effects are good, the horror is really good (I've been completely scared multiple times). It's just too bad the writing is god-awful. The characters are so unreasonable, stupid, and unlikable. The show has only one season (no surprise), I'm halfway through it.

Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams: Seems like a REALLY good version of the Twilight Zone, though I ruined the first ep by multitasking during it. Sigh. I think it had a really good twist, but it was lost on me because I wasn't paying attention. I need to watch the rest when I can focus on it.

Big Bang Theory: It's my show to watch when multitasking. I can enjoy it fine without paying attention. I wish more shows were like that. :P (But seriously, what happened to my attention span? I can't sit and watch anything and do nothing else at the same time.)

What I'm currently playing

Same as last week (and I don't expect this section to change much). I really need to give up Candy Crush (again), because it cuts too much into my reading time. Sigh. Someone should do a report on why it's so very addictive.

It's too bad that the writing for Aftermath is so terrible, because otherwise it would sound like a pretty cool show.

Yeah! If not for the characters, I'd really enjoy it. The dragon was cool, for a TV series on SciFi channel. Some of the other effects were well done.

I'll probably finish watching the season, so I can sort of recommend it if you're ever bored and have a high enough threshold for characters being stupid.

I guess it would depend on the level of their stupidity haha.

We watched a few of 'Electric Dreams' but OMG Dick's stories are just SO DAMN DEPRESSING lol. I need a few lighter ones mixed in. I kind of shelved it for some other stuff, but we will probably go back to it eventually.

Ahh! I really like depressing stuff, so his stories totally work for me. Now that I'm watching the show (and he did Man in the High Castle, too), I really need to hunt down his books.

Haha what I really need is more time. I currently have 342 unread books on my Kindle. I need to retire just so I can catch up.
