Uneventful but not bad day... game-wise anyway! (FFXI)

Not much happened, but that was okay. Digging was actually good for once (FOUR plat ores!), which was a nice change after so many bad days. Also did an assault with Cy's XP static, which we won! :)

Did no goldsmith skilling at all, and unfortunately not a single plat ring sold (by anyone, on the whole server). Bah. While I was counting on that money, I can save the rings if I have to; I'll use them way way way later, at goldsmithing 95. It'd be 3 million if all the rings sold at the current price though, so it'd be nice if some of them moved...

Behind the cut is static foo. Likely uninteresting to anyone else, so cutting it.



While I think we should continue assaulting for rank (if you disagree, please say so!), I think we can start putting our repeat Assaults to good use: Farming!

So please let me know what items you want, where they come from, how many points they cost, and (if possible) how many points you have there now. If you want more than one thing, put them in the order you want them most.

If you don't want anything, please leave a comment saying so? So I don't wait on a comment from you. :)

I want only one thing: Yigit Gomlek, Periqia, 20K points (have 0 now).
(Luckily I'm not in a terrible rush for it, as the Assaults there thus far suck.)

Once we rank up to Lance Corporal (next one after hoofprint) it'll be easier. Shooting Down the Baron (http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/Assault_Mission_-_Shooting_Down_the_Baron) looks like one we can repeat a lot. A couple of the really high ones might work as well, but I'm not looking that far in advance. :)

Agreed with you though: I don't want it badly enough to do the Assaults we've been avoiding thus far.

Not anything pressing, at all. The Imperial Kaman looks interesting (15k Iltrusi Atoll), but by no means is a rush, just something I'd buy if I got that many points. Might want the Pahluwan's one day, far, far down the road for Puppetmaster. Otherwise, I think in the course of getting other people stuff I will find something worth selling in most of the categories.

I just hit goldsmithing 57, planning on switching from gold hairpins (oh god the pain) to platinum ores now. Got any secrets about places to farm platinum beastcoins? I normally dump anywhere between 500-700k into goldsmithing per month (which is why it's taken 2 years to get to 57), so buying beastcoins at 300k per stack (requiring 1.2 mil for 12 synths that get me 0.4 skilups? PAH!) is not an option.

I expect to spend another year going from 57-61 alone unless I start dumping more time & money into goldsmithing, which I don't see happening unless I run into some hella good profit synths or finish clothcraft (94 atm, only 18 trillion dance shoes left to synth before I begin the true pain). Fortunately, I'm in no hurry.

I've never once even seen a plat beastcoin "out in the wild", I only get them from the AH. Try for singles, they're often cheaper than buying by the stack.

Supply is pretty low, though, so I'm hoping demand isn't high, or prices'll go up. Right now I need to be the only 57-61 goldsmither on the entire server :p
