Gods above, I'm sick of this game.

Last night I played fine, everything worked, logged off and went to bed.

Woke up. Started WoW so I could get the patch downloading. Popup message saying something was corrupted and I needed to run repair.exe. Did so.

The patch now wanted to download 8 gig. The actual patch was 500 meg. I let it download, went to work.

Came home tonight, download was done. Woo. Tried to log on.

"Unable to validate game version"

What the god damned hell.

I swear to god, I'm so sick of these damned patches never working for me. Google's coming up with nothing, I'm getting no reply on the tech support board. If I run the repair again, it'll likely want to redownload 8 gigs again and that will take hours and what if it still doesn't work?

Hate hate hate. Games are not supposed to be annoying as all hell.

Edit: GAH WTF. I decided to go through the repair process again and it tells me it's unable to repair, I need to fully reinstall the game. I cannot believe it. It was fine last night. This fucking patch. Dammit. Fucking hell.

Edit 2: One day I shall remember how different WoW is from FFXI. Reinstalling was a 12+ hour download on FFXI, but I did it in about two hours for WoW. Not as horrible option as it seemed. I'm online at the moment, but it still has something like 12 gigs left to download. I won't be sure it's fixed until it's done.

Why don't you get an external drive and copy the patch onto it so you don't have to re-download it, just copy it over after the repair?

I used to do what Tersa does. You do NOT need to 'install' wow. Once you get it running that first time, via install, download, what have you.. you can copy it elsewhere for safe keeping. Then merely copy it back when needed. It runs fine without installing! <3

Sadly that doesn't help you now, and I'm sorry for that, but it could help.

Thanks for the thought! I'm online now, trying to get my addons back into shape. (My bag one seems broken, probably from the patch instead of my doings, but makes playing the AH hard!)

Unfortunately our gem prices haven't gone up at all. Hopefully soon! How're things by you?

Insane. Gems are selling like hotcakes to all the raiders logging in with empty gem slots on crafted gear. Delicate Rubies are selling the best. 200g a pop.

Very nice! One of our red cuts went up to 70 for a while, but I only had a couple singles so I couldn't sell many. We're selling very slightly faster than normal.

On the plus side, I moved five wintersaber cub pets at 500 gold each before people crashed the market down to 200 (still not bad, but 500 was really sweet).
