Bits and pieces

I spent the last hour watching Blurred Lines cover and parody videos, trying to find a good one for this post. It all started with my canceling my TV cable service... *flashback wavy lines* When I want to watch stuff, I have to do it online. I'm surprised at how many sites like this one host hundreds of shows. More shows than I knew existed!

Apparently there's a version of the Great British Bake-off for kids (Junior Bake Off), so I started watching some season of that. The show used Blurred Lines in the middle of the ep. You know, the rape-y song? Made me blink quite a bit! Apparently it was banned in UK schools, but it's used on a TV show featuring kids?

The song sure is catchy though, thus listening to covers and parodies was really no hardship.

A scene from my current obsession amused me today. All my cats sitting around inside on the new expensive piece of cat furniture I bought, and one silly dopey cat hanging out outside under a hat.

I've been playing this game for a while now, too. It's strange how addictive it is when there's actually nothing to it. It's not like you're interacting with the cats or anything, but yay! Cats showed up and left me stuff! :D

I know! I think it feeds into the Pokemon need of having to catch 'em all. First have to get all the pictures, then all the items... I'm trying to not check it so often, but what if a rare cat comes and I miss it! :P

I've gotten pictures of all the cats and bought all the toys... now I'm still playing because I want to get all the mementos, and that might take a while because random. :P :)

Yes, the game is surprisingly compelling.

I'm still in the early stages, trying to get all the pictures. (Peaches still hasn't shown even once, let alone me catching her!)

I suspect the mementos are going to be a long-term goal...

Thistle got me playing it. I don't think I'm quite as addicted to it as she is (lol :D ), but I do enjoy going in for a few seconds 2-3 times a day, taking photos of the cats I haven't seen before or look particularly cute, refilling the food bowl, and gathering the presents.

From looking at that photo, though, I have a ways to go to keep up with the Jones'. :) I'm still saving Goldfish to open up the expansion.

That game is so random. I downloaded it but sorta forgot about it. Sylvia is OBSESSED with it now, she keeps updating me on her kitty situation.

I assume you watched Weird Al's "Word Crimes" video? Not only is it a fantastic parody, but it helps me remember grammar rules (and, bonus, the video features livejournal LOL!)

The good thing about the cats app, if you forget about it, no big deal! There's no daily login thing, and it's not like the cats will die. Just fill up the bowls when you go back, and you're good to go. I like that element of it.

THERE ARE SO MANY COMPETITIVE COOKING SHOWS. I kind of want to watch them all, but it drives my flat mate insane. Hahahha.
