I don't know if I've ever reviewed a food here before. I probably have, but if so I can't remember when.

Arctic Zero is a very low calorie "ice cream". 35 calories for a serving/quarter of the pint, 150 for the whole pint. I 100% knew it would taste nothing at all like ice cream, but I decided to check it out anyway. I got the chocolate peanut butter flavor, instead of the one pictured here.

While nothing like ice cream, it was surprisingly good. I actually liked it! (Please note it's been a year and a half since I last had any "real" sweet, so that could be coloring my taste of things.) It's more like ice milk than ice cream, but to me it tasted chocolately (weakly, but again, with that calorie count, what can you expect?).

My worry with these fake foods is that they'll make me want the real ones more, or somehow make it easier for me to give in and buy the real version. (I never buy sugar free candy/cookies.) I don't know if that's a valid concern or not. I suspect maybe not. I want to eat more of this -- considering calories and other factors, I would choose this over "real" ice cream.

I picked it up in Sprouts (a small grocery chain in this area) for about $3. Very worth it, in my opinion!

I now have all the cats in Neko Atsume, and I'm kind of quickly losing interest in the game. All that's left to do is buy the last of the toys I don't own yet (just a matter of time), and get the mementos. I don't know if I care enough about the mementos to put much effort at all into it.

On one hand, I'm kind of sad I'm done (sort of done) so soon, but on the other I'm kind of ready to be done with the game.

Last night I dreamed I adopted a new kitten. Though the dream was set in the real world, the kitten looked exactly like a Neko Atsume cat -- a simple drawing. I think I need a break from cat collecting. :P

The "end game" (such as it is) of Neko Atsume is to get a memento from each cat. There's a small chance of it randomly happening each time they visit. It's usually small items a cat could pick up around the house or yard.

Shadow, no Ritzy Bitz for you! Take that back outside, ewww.

And, because I just don't post about this game enough, check out how wonderful the music is. So peaceful and relaxing and just makes me so happy.

And the RP log from the western ("You are sitting across from your most hated enemy.") storytelling thread on reddit. Though not as bad as tumblr, it's hard to access copies of your old posts on reddit, so I'll probably keep archiving them here. I wish I had coped another RP thread (a NSFW one), but it had barely gotten started before it was deleted. I had thought I had time to save it! Oh well.

Log back here. )

I'm SO SO SO tired today. I was short on sleep all week, then stayed up way too late last night, now I can't muster enough energy to do anything. Which is a problem, as I have work stuff that needs doing...

I spent the last hour watching Blurred Lines cover and parody videos, trying to find a good one for this post. It all started with my canceling my TV cable service... *flashback wavy lines* When I want to watch stuff, I have to do it online. I'm surprised at how many sites like this one host hundreds of shows. More shows than I knew existed!

Apparently there's a version of the Great British Bake-off for kids (Junior Bake Off), so I started watching some season of that. The show used Blurred Lines in the middle of the ep. You know, the rape-y song? Made me blink quite a bit! Apparently it was banned in UK schools, but it's used on a TV show featuring kids?

The song sure is catchy though, thus listening to covers and parodies was really no hardship.

A scene from my current obsession amused me today. All my cats sitting around inside on the new expensive piece of cat furniture I bought, and one silly dopey cat hanging out outside under a hat.

I really, really wish I could get into Star Wars.

I watched the new movie this weekend (downloaded, because there's no way I would take the time and money to see a movie I suspected I wouldn't like, even if I had had the money to spend), and I couldn't even get through it.

I love the idea of Star Wars (a giant story that so many people love and are into), and I like how complex the canon seems to be, but even though I keep trying to make myself get into it, for some reason it just never hooks me.

I tried rewatching the original three a year or two back, but they did nothing for me.
I'm watching Clone Wars on Netflix, but I watch at most one 20 minute ep a week, and often miss weeks.
I gave this new movie a chance, watching more than an hour and a half of the two hours, but I had so little interest in it.

I did like the idea behind the Finn character, and I had hoped that would be enough to make me like the movie, but that part of the plot seemed so shallow, like they just barely mentioned who he was and why he left the Storm Troopers, then had to move on to the action. I would have liked it if they had spent a whole lot more time on that, on his struggle to break away from his training and conditioning. /end spoiler

I had to pause the movie to google and see if I understood a part right. If this is a spoiler, I suspect it's nearly as old as I am, but I'm cutting just in case I'm wrong about that.

So... Han Solo was Darth Vader's son? That seems so... cliche? Odd? Off? Something is very, very strange about that, like a fic where the author wants to make their most popular characters related somehow. [Edit: Oops, I'm wrong! See comments.]

And then I found out Han Solo had the kid with Princess Leia, and I really started rubbing my head.

Questionable storylines aside, their kid is quite hot!

Neko Atsume is killing me. I cannot believe how much I love these little cartoon cats! It's insane! I talk to them in my head, just like I would real kittens. I have real feelings for these silly little cats! I don't understand it, I feel like I'm going crazy!

I had some other stuff I wanted to post about, but I forgot to upload the screenshots, so that will be a post for another day.

Because I totally need more phone app games to be obsessed with, I finally tried Neko Atsume. A Japanese game, now translated into English. Basically it seems to be a very very casual cat collecting game. You buy toys and set them out, and at random times of the day a cat might visit your yard to play with it.

I've only been playing a half-day now, so I'm not sure what the final goal is. (Have every cat visit? Or catch a picture of every one? Or something else?) It's a tad annoying, because I think the more you check the app, the more chance you'll have of spotting a cat and getting a picture of it, thus I'm checking it endlessly.

As I've only just started playing, I don't have any very cute pictures yet. Here's one of multiple cats visiting my yard:

On the plus side, Neko Atsume has cut down on the time I was playing the Final Fantasy Record Keeper phone game.

I finally finished Better Call Saul. While it was not as good as Breaking Bad, you can't really compare the two. (Except I just did, rebel that I am.)

Semi-random order on impressions:

The last episode was the weakest for me by far. I see what they were setting up, but after a great season, that ep just fell really flat for me.

Were we supposed to dislike Chuck from the beginning? I never liked him, the whole electromagnetic hypersensitivity thing made me roll my eyes and frown lots. Annoyed me further when we found out it was him working against Jimmy.

So hard to call him "Saul", by the way.

Mike was easily the best thing in the show. The episode where he talked about his dead son? Broke me. It pains me to think about how he ended up in Breaking Bad, but at least we 100% know he's safe through all of BCS!

So all in all, I loved it to pieces. I really, REALLY wish all shows came out like Netflix does. I do not want to watch season 2 one ep per week... but I don't know if I'm strong enough to wait until the end. When I marathon it, I pick up so much more, because things don't have a whole week to fade.
