It's been three days since my last post about Stardew Valley! So this is so totally not a daily post~

While I now see the value of winter, I think it was winter that cooled (haha) my love of the game. During the final days of winter, I started feeling like I was getting hooked again. I set up my land for spring (hoeing everything and setting up my sprinkler grid), and it was great to have something to do.

Then spring hit and mother nature laughed at me. Apparently season change (or at least from winter to spring) resets the land and two days of hoe work were 98% gone. Plus OH MY GOD, so much "garbage" (rocks and sticks) everywhere! After having wonderfully neat land in winter, I felt like I had been set on fire and electrocuted at the same time. ARRRGGG NOOOOO!

So the first three days of spring were all for my crops. I'd like to get the last two crop bundles (spring and gold star) done this year, so I can have my greenhouse in time for winter.

Before winter ended, I explored more of Skull Dungeon, but I like it a whole lot less than the mines. I got down to level 50-something by chance and luck more than anything, but it was so stressful (if I die and lose so much) that I eventually just left with a lot of health.

I have the last upgrade done on my house, all my farm buildings done (except the slime hutch and well, since I can't see the point of them), and my axe upgraded to the final level (not really seeing the point of doing the pickaxe, but I suppose eventually I will).

Best of all, Sebastian is ready to marry me, but I couldn't get the marriage thingie from the NPC in winter (boy was that frustrating). Now I just have to wait for it to rain...

Now that my crops are set up, I need to put a fence up around my barn so my pig can't wander far and wide. Almost all my other animals are gone now. I have one cow and two goats waiting to be full hearts so I can sell them off. Ducks and rabbits need to give me feathers and feet, then they'll be gone. I have a couple of dinosaurs because it amuses me, so they'll likely stay around for a while to keep the pig company.

Oh, and about the sprinklers, how I had thought they didn't work? My bad, I hadn't understood how restricted they are -- I thought they covered eight squares in every direction, not one square on either side of it for a total of eight... Boy was I disappointed when I realized how they really work. At least, with all the mining and fishing I do (junk to make the refined quartz), I can make as many improved sprinklers as I need.

Quality sprinklers water the squares around them only, sadly. Iridium sprinklers water two squares around them. It'll take a while to make them, but plan to make lightning rods, to get batteries, and as you gather iridium you can make the sprinklers. I upgraded during season shifts.

Korobus sells iridium sprinklers every Fri. If you can get into the sewers anyway. The traveling merchant sells them on occasion too.

Oooh the sewer guy changes what he sells? I only went once, then never again. I'll have to go back down!

I wish you could add things into the game calendar. I check mine every morning, and if I could add things like the traveling merchant, it would be a big help.

Yeah, I think he sells sprinklers two days a week, but I only know about Fri for sure. It really helps when you don't have a lot of ores.

I would //love// that. Might suggest it on the mod forums for the game. :)

Omg! I finally got the meteor! Four years it took. c.c The thing landed in a convenient spot, so I've decided to leave it.

Also got rid of my slime hutch. Sebastian keeps pressing to have one, but I found it super annoying, with no payoff. I already have the iridium statue, which gives you ore daily, so I don't need what the slimes drop.

Oh! And once you get to that point, as I know you will, go into the tunnel near the bus and put a battery on the nearly hidden door there. It starts a quest line which opens up the casino. A guy sells a million gold statue there, but it's so worth it. Gives me the best presents for everyone's birthday! I never have to worry about not having the right stuff.

I got lucky, I got a meteor in my first summer -- before I could even do anything with it! I wish I had left it, but instead I broke it open and got some ores.

Oh thanks! I read something about the casino, but I thought I saw that you had to reach the bottom of the Skull Dungeon to open it. I laughed and said that would never happen...

Thanks for the link! I made an account and suggested it. :)

I worried there was something wrong when I didn't get the meteor the first year, but all posts about it said that it was random. Now I'm kind of glad it dropped during a time I don't need the ore. :)

There's no bottom to the skull dungeon that I know of. People have been trying to find it, with no success. (People said that after like floor 300 they'd get tons and tons of iridium, but I don't need it.)

Yay for suggesting!

Are meteors only one time events? If so, then I'm really kicking myself over not keeping it! It was in a good spot (near my house). Would have been in the middle of my garden, but hey, I could plant around it.

Oh I thought it was 120 or 150 floors. Wow, 300+. Maybe once the death punishment is lightened (which is in the works, I think the coming patch) I'll put more effort into it.

I have no idea to be honest. Been wondering that too.

The original mine, near the adventurers club, has 120 floors. The Skull Dungeon, in the desert, has no limit that I'm aware of.

Ha! While looking for info about the meteor, I found someone who had it land in their chicken coop (http://i.imgur.com/x8mTAjY.jpg) and they were no longer able to get inside to tend their chickens.

Hm, maybe that's where I got the 120 figure from. I was talking about the one in the desert, the Skull one.

Wow, I'm really glad mine landed somewhere convenient. o.o That would really suck!

My GOD METEORS I had no idea that was even a thing.

Yeah, so don't mine yours! They're cool! I've been googling, but can't find an answer to if they're a once-ever happening or not.

I will TOTALLY NOT MINE IT. If I get one. I hope it doesn't land on my chicken house, I ONLY HAVE THE ONE AND SHE IS A PAIN ENOUGH IN THE ASS.

Chances that it will hit something in your yard are slim, and if that happens, you can always change the position by going into your save file if you like. I found handy instructions for that around online!
