I'm an idiot
Nov. 14th, 2006 03:49 pmSeriously, I'm an idiot. I stayed online an hour and a half late last night for Besieged, when at best I only get five hours on a work night.
Other than the whole dead tired thing, it was fun. Saw those frog-men for the first time and got turned into a frog! Got screenshots, but I'm at work and they're at home.
The whole night was nothing but frantic rushing, and yet I got almost nothing done. Even knowing I have XP static the second I walk in through the door tonight, I didn't even get my digging crap muled away.
See, it started with us doing the Decimation WSNM as soon as the servers came up. I had the weapon cleared for a while, but wasn't in a rush to do the fight. Happily a bunch of LS people had time to help out, so we ran off and did it!
However, S-E being the writers of the worst code on the planet, that's where things went bad. After the fight I went to talk to the NPC, but instead of finishing the quest and giving me the darned WS, he would only start a new quest for me. >< That darned 'run around the world twice to get a free chocobo egg' one. While it was cute, it took more than an hour of time that I did not have. (Jeuno to LTP to Jeuno to Sandy to Jeuno. WTF! Was it a quest or part of CoP?) In the end I got the WS, but still haven't had time to try it out and see what it looks like.
Then two waves of Besieged. Was fun, but one wave lasted an hour and the other and hour and a half. Too long. zzz
This morning I got up and muled all my digging crap so that I'd have room for BRD armor tonight. Since I was online, I checked my guild turn in.
I'm at 148,800/150,000 GP, and today is the highest point value turn in, so I was really hoping to get this done and finished and never do turn ins again. The item ended up being Bison Kecks, a-fucking-gain. All three times we were at the highest point value it was damned Bison Kecks. 100K to buy at the AH, more than 100K to make them myself. Tomorrow we go back to the very lowest item, which will likely not be worth 1,800 total.
Exhausted, annoyed, and knowing that every non-work moment of my day today will be going into the game. I hate to quote cliched lines, but FFXI: I don't know how to quit you.
