Do ask, do tell!

Dear Mr. Obama,
I love you more and more every day. Please continue to both rock and not get shot by random insane people.
Much love,
Thistle
Reason! Finally! Obama is ending the Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy. Okay, okay, he did say before that he was going to end that, but still! Yay again!
From the same story:
"Obama also called on Congress to repeal the Defense Of Marriage Act, which limits how state, local and federal bodies can recognize partnerships and determine benefits. He also called for a law to extend benefits to domestic partners."
I know he doesn't personally believe in same sex marriages, which makes this especially nice -- unlike certain other presidents who shall remain nameless, he's doing what's right, not just using the office to try to push his own personal beliefs through.
"My expectation is that when you look back on these years you will look back and see a time when we put a stop against discrimination ... whether in the office or the battlefield."
It's so nice to have a good president. :D I just wish he didn't have so many messes left by the old president (who shall remain nameless again!) so he could concentrate on just making forward progress.
(Man, two political posts in a row! I need to post about TV, WoW, reading, and a bunch of other stuff, just have to make time! Next post will be something lighter, promise!)
