The words "To be continued..." should never, ever, EVER be used in a book. At least not when placed in the middle of an action scene.
Happily, this book addressed a number of the logic issues from the previous book, but more than that, it's really setting up a big future conflict, and that's pretty darned cool.
In the last book, the group made a new kid into an Animorph. The problem is, they didn't know him at all, he just happened to find the alien tech that makes new Animorphs.
In this book, we see it turns out the kid is something of a little psycho. Kills animals without reason, makes "jokes" about hurting people, has no morals. And oh yeah, tried to switch sides to join the bad guys, too.
In other reviews, I've seen this arc called a trilogy, so sadly I guess it will all be wrapped up in the next book. Hopefully that will be the last of the "To be continued..."s midscene, too...
