A collection of short stories about horses of all kinds.
Anthologies always follow the same pattern: They put their best stories in the first, second, and last slots. So, knowing that, my rule is if the first two stories don't work for me, I give up on the book.
The first two stories very much didn't work for me, both in writing style and content. Stopped reading in the middle of the second one, 6% into the book.
ANIMAL (The Anitar Chronicles Book 1) by G.S. Banks

I wanted to like this book, but as was the trend of books in this post, the story was not good enough to make up for all the grammar issues.
The plot was about how some small group of humans has the power to draw on animal powers, but in the part I read (the first 22%) it was just average teenage Drama stuff. Nothing about their powers at all. I have no idea even if they could turn into animals or just shared powers with them or something else. Yawn.
A Rustle in the Grass by Robin Hawdon

I had had a lot of hopes for this book. It got so many good reviews (damn me for falling for that, you'd think I'd have learn better by now...). Told from an ant's point of view, it was all about ant society and such. While it seemed like maybe it was a realistic view on it, the writing was so so so bad, I couldn't get into the story at all. Page-long sentences, rampant semicolon misuse, and other things. Stopped reading at 4%.
Polar Storm by Deborah D. Moore

Rating: Hated (Hated-Disliked-Okay-Liked-Loved)
Easily the worst book of these four. None of the characters were at all believable, and the book was shaping up to be a "prepper" plot (alpha male character is the only one ready for the end of the world). Add a whole mess of grammar issues, and so when I saw the author had written other prepper books, I dropped this one like a hot potato. Stopped reading at 3%.
