1989 by Sam C. Leonhard. If this book hadn't been so short, I would have DNFed it. Took about an hour to "read" (and I skimmed much of it).

Set in current times and the real world, the main character is drinking in a bar. He drinks so much he passes out and travels back in time to his college days. See, he's gay, and in college he turned down a kiss from the man he loved. So he went back in time and kissed him, then woke up.

He appeared back in the bar, left the bar, passed out again, and somehow went back in time again. He and the guy were now married and talking about adopting a kid.

The story might have been okay, except it was mostly just graphic sex. In the blurb about the author, she says "slash became an addiction" and that she writes "gay porn". (I have no issues with books full of sex of any flavor, it's just not something I'm interested in reading anymore.)

As short as this book is, I think I must have gotten it for free or something.

DNF #87: The City Cats by Colin Dann. Not the worst book I ever tried to read, but the cats were too human and the writing was too young. Animals not being animal-ish enough is the biggest sin in talking animals books.

DNF #88: Eye of the Wolf by Daniel Pennac. This felt like the worst book I've ever tried to read, but it got good reviews, so maybe the issue was me. A talking animal story, but the animals could not be more human. What they did, what they knew, how they spoke. I read 28% of the book, and all the two main characters (a wolf and a human) did was stare at each other. Really, the boy stood unmoving in front of the wolf's cage, day and night, even when the zoo was closed, and the two just stared at each other. That's it.

DNF #89: Where There be Humans by Rebekah L. Purdy. Yet another book I have no idea why I have. Romance, which I never read. The author tried to make it romance/fantasy, but it just didn't work. The main character was a half-goblin princess who was for some reason going to be sent on a very dangerous mission.

DNF #90: Mayhem and Monkeyshines by Glenn Clark. A self-published book from a man who writes mostly religious books (and a really, really religious autobiography). I can't find a single review of this book anywhere online, so I can't confirm my guess, but I suspect it was written by Clark to have a "clean", "safe" book for younger readers. The humor in the book just didn't work at all. All the child characters seemed like good role models for good little religious kids.

Just not the book for me.
