All minor things, thankfully.

Dear LJ: How hard would it really be to include a user name when someone likes your entry? "Someone likes your entry". We know you can send user names, you do it when someone leaves a comment, so why in the world not when someone likes something? Ugh.

Dear Amazon: While I understand why you do it, making the customer pay postage for a return is just awful. It's not even worth returning stuff to you... which I know is exactly the point. Boo on you!

Just last night I bought two new containers of Benefiber, $30 each. Went to Costco today... they were $14 and change. I ran right home and tried to cancel the order, but it had shipped already. Ugh.

Dear Costco: I was so looking forward to shopping at you! I'm not usually someone who enjoys shopping, but I have such fond memories of going to your store as a kid. Unfortunately you are no where near as good or as fun as I had expected... Admittedly it has been 30 or so years since I last went, so lots of time to build you up in my memory. I recall you as a store that had everything! I haven't gone grocery shopping in two weeks so I could clear out as much freezer space as I could for stuff I was going to buy on my trip. ...and I came home with almost nothing. The aforementioned Benefiber. New Brita pitcher filters (questionable if a good value or not, since I had to buy a pack of TEN, and I'm not sure I'll use ten before I die), and a $10 pack of pulled pork (oh my god, such a big pack). There were other things I wouldn't have minded getting, but of course everything was in such big packs...

I had heard so much good about their hot food as well, but... I had part of a hot dog (yes, a good value at $1.50, even if I gave away the drink it came with) and I bought the chicken bake thing to try later (very big for the price), but both of them were pretty meh. I wouldn't get either again. The last thing I bought was probably the best purchase: A rotisserie chicken. They're usually $8 or so from supermarkets around here, so the $5 price alone was great, and I swear this chicken is three times the size of supermarket ones. I'd go back for that alone.

I think it's fair to say that I have long since gotten my money's worth of my permanent account.

Also, that goat graphic is hideous.

It's so odd. Other than one RP log posting account, I have had no new posts on DW since I started reading my friends list there (so like a week+, I guess?). Everything there is just a crosspost from LJ, but I know a lot of people said they weren't going to crosspost, so one of the following must be happening.

1) I lost track of people and don't have them followed over there.
2) No one has posted over there in a week.
3) People are crossposting when they said they wouldn't. (Not counting the people who said they'd crosspost for a short time.)

I think it has to be #1. I had almost 60 new posts to read on LJ (I missed reading for a couple days), and only 7 posts on DW. I knew that was going to happen when people moved. Blah!

On glasses: Anyone have any idea the cheapest route to go for new glasses? I wear mine for less than hour a day, only right before bed and for a couple minutes when I wake up, otherwise I'm always using my contacts. But I do need glasses as an emergency backup to my contacts, and my current pair is falling apart...

(Crossposting by hand from LJ.)

At first I was sad about people (again) jumping ship from LJ, but now I'm more annoyed by the situation than anything else. I've put way too much time and effort trying to figure out how to keep reading journals and not losing contact with people, but came up with no good solution.

There's no way to not lose quality in my posts. If I post on DW and let it crosspost to LJ, I lose icon selection, plus there's the whole locking issue. (Not that I often lock posts, but I darned well should be able to if I want.)

If I read my friends list on DW (using a RSS feed to bring the posts from LJ to DW), again I lose icons, but also formatting and other things. Plus I wouldn't see others' locked posts.

So sorry people who are leaving LJ. I like you all, but the best I can do is try to read my DW circle (or whatever the hell term they use). I can't promise I'll remember to on a regular basis, but that's the best I can do.

As of this morning, I think half of my active friendslist is gone to DW. Many of them (more than half?) aren't crossposting to LJ. I'd really rather not lose contact with people, but I barely keep up with my friends page on LJ, I don't think I could keep up with a DW circle(? is that the right term? Circle?).

Ugh. I don't blame people for leaving if that's what they want to do. I just wish there were an easy way to pull all the posts I want to read on LJ, DW, and elsewhere into one big feed.

You can make an RSS feed of your journal on either site, I wonder why you can't get a feed for your friendspage/circle? That would solve this problem.

Ah ha, hmmm, LJ DOES have a feed for your friendspage! http://user.livejournal.com/data/rss_friends (But that works only if you have a "professional" level account, which luckily I do.) So I suppose I could read on DW and pull my LJ friends list in there...

Well how do you like that. I made this post to complain, and by the end of it I solved my own problem.

I suppose now I have to somehow set up crossposting to both places...

Just to be confusing: I'm thistlechaser there (no underscore). Follow me here for the most likely chance of seeing my new posts. Follow me there to see them if I get this crossposting thing worked out.
