Edit: I wasn't going to make a post for the movie on its own, but since I wrote this one I can just tack it on.
"Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief" was my Netflix movie of the week. I was expecting a whole lot more from it... It was never so bad that I turned it off before the end, but it got darned close at some points. It really seemed to be written more for pre-teens than for anyone else.
There were a couple moments I liked. The whole of Las Vegas. Some of the special effects. I disliked all the characters though, and really, the whole theme of the movie.
I think/worry I own the first book. If I do, I hope it's a whole lot better than the movie was.

This post went through a couple different versions, I've been writing it in my head since Friday.
It started with a post on a LJ comm. Some idiot posted giving out an easy gold making secret. I commented with my usual "loose lips sink ships" rant. Another guy replied to mine with " ^ this ". Thinking he must be much like me, I checked out his LJ... He had a bunch of gold making tricks written out step by step. *holds head*
So for two days I was writing out different ranting posts in my head, but never sat down and typed it out. I still wouldn't have posted it tonight, if it didn't turn into something more interesting: There's an amazing difference between servers when it comes to making money.
That other guy is on a non-RP server. He has a crapton of mats available to him, there are times when there are more on the AH than he can process. Me? I'm lucky if I can buy mats cheap enough twice a week, and even then it's in very limited supply.
I suspect this is because on a RP server, when you have nothing else to do, people generally look for RP. On a non-RP server, I bet they fill that time with farming.
I'm disappointed I didn't make my goal (I intended to hit the old gold cap this weekend), but I did spend most of yesterday getting another worgen into play (gods above, the worgen opening quests take forever). Add onto that how much time I stand idle at the AH just watching for mats... it's no wonder I didn't make the goal.
This whole thing is silly anyway. I have more gold than anyone could need. I wish I could just stop, but I'm bad at that kind of thing.
