Wow, not Wow! Sorry for all the posts today, couldn't sleep. This is just beautiful. The music is good (not my favorite thing ever, but pretty), but it's the animation!

I wonder if that's all hand-animated or some kind of computer animated stuff? Like they videoed real dancers and the program animated from that? The movements are so real and believable!

Edit: Based on info here I'd guess it's all done by hand!

Probably because the technique (that I think they used in this video) is the same as the one Disney has been using since Snow White in which they draw over the frames of a human actor/dancer/whatever. Really fluid and lifelike~

There's a person on my flist who drew for Avatar (the cartoon one) and is now drawing for a new Pixar(?) movie, Jack Frost. The figure reminds me a lot of her Jack!

This is really pretty! The animator must have used real dancers for reference since they are listed in the credits. But this is a lot more interesting than just a simple rotoscoped dance video. <3
