Inception came up in my Netflix queue, so I finally got to see the movie I've heard so much about. I don't know if I'm just not in the mood for it or if the 30 minutes of unskippable commercials before the movie soured me on it or if I came in with too high expectations, but man, I'm bored out of my mind. There's a half-hour left to watch tonight or tomorrow, and I don't really care if I do or not.
Seriously, there was a half-hour of commercials before the movie. An eight minutes Blu-Ray commercial. Two video game commercials. One for some film group. Plus the usual handful of trailers. None of this could be skipped or advanced through, which made a two and a half hour movie that much longer.
I don't know why the movie didn't click for me, but I was bored with it from the first moments. I made myself sit through it, thinking it must get better, but other than the special effects I couldn't care less. (And, on a small screen, even those special effects weren't all that much.) I really don't know if I'll bother with the last half-hour, I feel like I already wasted two and a half hours of my life on this.
Edit: Okay, watched the ending. I liked it more than the rest of the film. Googling let me know that I wasn't alone in being uncertain if ( spoiler, cut just in case others haven't seen it yet ) The ending made me feel a little less like I wasted hours on this, but I still wish the film had been a whole lot shorter.
