Snips and Snails and Puppy Dog Tales

A good zombie icon is surprisingly hard to find. It can't be something too bloody, and while an animal zombie might be amusing, it would be too easy to mistake it as a bloody animal icon. It has to be work safe, so no innards hanging out. Then there's the whole idea of what a "zombie" is, the image in my head doesn't match all the other ideas out there. So I have this one for now, but I'm going to keep my eye open for better ones. I might even commission one, though it'd be a challenging one because I don't know exactly what I want it to look like, and that's unfair to the artist. (Edit: The more I look at it, the more I kind of like this one...)

Anyway, zombies. I can't believe how badly I have zombies on the brain. Week before last, not only did I dream about zombies every single night, I had multiple dreams a night about them. I seem to be running into them everywhere, not just The Walking Dead. Er, not literally running into them, thankfully. Shows, movies, books, even RP sort of (ghouls!).

And! The Walking Dead. This week's may have been my favorite ep so far. LOVE LOVE LOVE Daryl. Loved every spoilery plot element. I have all the comics/graphic novels now, but I have to be really careful once I start reading, I don't want to get ahead of the show. (That's backwards, I know.)

It's strange, I've always avoided horror movies because I don't like being scared, but I find I'm really, really enjoying the frightening moments in Walking Dead. Seems like at least once an ep I jerk back from the screen, gasping in surprise. And then I end up grinning.

In WoW, questing went surprisingly well. 28-31 on paladin in about two hours. I'm out of range of the instance I don't like and can't spell (Gnome-whatever) so I could go back to instancing, but I don't know if I will.

Got RP as well, yay! A very fast-moving, but good scene. I can't wait for the follow-up to it. :D

I'm glad tomorrow is a weights morning instead of aerobics, otherwise I think my legs might just fall off. I've been doing more intense stuff lately, and now my legs have all sorts of minor pulls and aches.

...Ha. Every time I write a post about zombies, I always forget I have this tag.

Last thing fandom-ish thing I posted was about Bill Clinton being a brony. Now, I don't watch that My Little Pony show, so I could be really wrong here, but I think I might just be doomed. Though... some of them do magic, right? I wonder if one of them would be strong enough to fly me away? Maybe a couple could carry me on a sling or something?

I'm not counting just mentions of anything that could have a fandom (WoW, movies), only actual fandom-related posts. Huh! Except my mention previous to MLP was actually WoW fandom (fanfic). Varian/Garrosh slash. So... who would be better against zombies, the little cartoon ponies or the leaders of the two WoW factions?

Weeds restarted two weeks ago, and I can't say I'm enjoying this season much. Might just be because I'm watching a half-hour ep once a week instead of watching a whole season in a couple of sittings, but I suspect it's more that they're beating a dead horse.

Dexter season 6 will be starting soon, and I barely touched season 5. After loving previous seasons, I couldn't get into 5 at all. Was it worth watching?

* Michele Bachmann knows 12 things about the world that you don't. Including that Democrats were responsible for swine flu. Almost scarier than her equating gay folks with pedophiles is how she sees her kids ("Her Children's Marriageability" on that link).

* Everyone loves balloons. Except maybe cats.

Remember the best game trailer in the history of games? Dead Island, the zombie one? (Even if you watched it before, watch it again! It's so worth it.) Now there's a second one out. While not as good as the first one (what could be?) it's still scary and really sad. I'd recommend watching the first one again before watching the second.

There's also a new ThunderCats trailer, which can only be watched on Facebook (blech). It's interesting. A bit too anime-ish for my tastes, but I'll certainly watch it when it comes out.

In other cat-related news, while I hate Twitter, there's a Game of Thrones newsfeed that gathers all the ep-related tweets from the night and reposts them. Those I'm willing to read. Best one of the last ep?

My RL cat continues to not like Glee. I think all the singing bothers her (probably sounds like yowling or screaming). She'll sit there, staring at the TV, then when someone starts to sing her ears will slllloooowly pin backwards, then she runs off. She watches a lot of TV, but Glee is the only show that sends her running.

Life is darned good right now. I had good news at work. I'm so very in love with my new Warcraft guild. I have lots of material to write a long, content-rich post, but instead... ZOMBIES!



I'm in so so so much trouble. Directly to the left of me are the following items: A small tube of sunscreen, a phone, and a sheet of coupons to Burger King. I could throw the phone at one, though I throw like a girl and would likely miss. I could... keep them from getting skin cancer? Or perhaps I could distract them with glossy full-color pictures of a fast food burger!

Would you do any better than me?
